Chrome Yellow for darker skin?

NW45 here...

I'm going today to pick up some C-Shock items (Friday just couldn't come fast enough), but I also wanted to purchase a yellow. I don't like the yellow that comes with C-Shock (Going Bananas), so I was thinking about Chrome Yellow.

Have any of you tried this? How does it look on darker skin, and what's the texture like (just wondering if you have to put a lot of it on in order for it to show up bright)?

Thanks in advance!

It's a pretty bright color but the texture is kind of chalky. If you use a base you should be fine. Do you have a pro store in orlando? You could try (if they've been released yet) the new pro yellow that came out. From the swatches I have seen it looks very pretty.

I love Chrome Yellow (I am NC45) I use a base either a shadestick or a paint and I love how it looks. It is a bit chalk but not too bad. What are you thinking about wearing with it?

I purchased this the other day along with some C-Shock items. I don't really like it, but I think that's because I don't really know how to wear it yet. I wanted a bright yellow, and when I see this on other people it shows up so bright. What color shadestick do you use as a base?

Chrome Yellow is a love hate shadow. If you are into brights, you need it, but it is weird and chalky. I am going to pick up soon to go with the new C-Shock shadows, and my other bright mattes. If you layer or blend it with other shadows, you can come up with a lot of different look though.

I have Canary Yellow and I don't love it. It's too flat/chalky. I LOVE Goldmine which has hints of gold but you can very easily wear it as a yellow comfortably. I went to the Pro store two days ago and they have a new yellow (I can't remember the name) but I passed.

i havent had luck with most of the matte yellows 4 some reason i always end up giving them to friends that it looks good on..the only think close to yellow that ever works for me it golden lemon pigment but it probably has more gold in it than you are looking for

It's hard to wear alone. I mostly use it alone as a powder for corrective work. I'm sure if I mixed it with a paint it would stand out better or had a good base underneath. But most people I work on just can't wear it. You're a very special person if you can wear it and not look jaundiced.
