clearance bin prices?

i was just browsing thru the clearance bin and i am sort of shocked by how much some ppl are asking, especially for dipped e/s.. i can see if they're LE... most don't realize pro pans are only $9.50 and regular shadows are only $13.50 so i don't understand why ppl are asking $12 and up for USED pans and sometimes well over $15 for others that aren't even LE... not tryin to be snobby or anything!! just a conversation starter!

members set their own prices as they see fit. it's up to the buyer if they want to pay or not. i don't see what the big deal is quite frankly

Dont feel like an ass! Ppl set the prices for what they want to get out of the e/s. So they might want to turn a tiny profit. Some others might not remember what they paid, some ppl might need money to pay off a CC etc so they might try to get a lil extra for the item.

It goes the same way for something priced super cheap, they know they prob could get more $$$ for it but they might need the $ quicker etc.

But I have got some amazing deals here also, some things I know I would have had to pay double for on ebay. It really all depends on the seller and what purpose they are selling the MU and what they need/want out of the sale. Hit or miss really!

But don't feel like an ass, its still America you can say what ya feel lol (kinda corny haha)!

Dont feel bad... I know that some peoples prices might seem like alot ut you also have to look at where they are from, in the US prices are alot cheaper than overseas or in canada so you will generally have to pay more... I know MOST people on here try and be fair with their prices though I too think that alot of people are asking a bit much sometimes

I know you didn't mean any offence (and though, I'm not American, I have made an ass/arse of myself many times) but I can vouch for the fact, that this forum is not actually America.

As for the original post, I think that most of us agree but yeah, whatever the market will bear...

oh hon, don't feel like an ass! like the other posters said, sometimes members may have paid a certain amount for an item and want to sell it back at that price. or, if there's high demand for an item and they know they can get more for it, they price what the market can bear. i've also had some killer buys from our lovely specktrettes!!

I bought from people here, but never for something that I tought(?) was too expensive.

If people continue to pay for it, the sellers will continue and its like that for every business in the world.

Yeah, don't sweat it. I have bought some items here, and esp. on ebay, that were overpriced and not a deal at all. It takes time to figure things out - you will get to know who the good sellers are.

Also, don't forget most sellers are open to negotiations so feel free to make an offer - if you don't think it's fair, by all means pass on the sale!!

I am from Canada and it costs me $6 and up to ship a small parcel

Most of the time when I sell something, I am mostly charging for shipping cost, and I end up losing money on the deal. It sucks, but USPS is just so much cheaper, I can't compete with it except to lower my prices and take the loss. And don't feel bad, we know you didn't mean any harm

I actually agree with you. I have seen things for sale on here that are the same price as what I'd pay if I went to a counter and bought it. So, I don't buy it. I have seen things on here that there is no way I would pay what they ask. And the funny thing is when you see someone charging let's say $25 for something that another seller is selling for the actual value of $15. It just takes patience and you have to look around and comparison shop. It's kind of like anything else. Ebay is the same way. But I got a great deal from a Specktra member and am really happy with it. I have also seen other great deals that I missed out on cuz someone was faster than I was.

don't feel like an ass, we're all entitled to our own opinions.

usually when i sent prices higher, i'm trying to recover what i paid online, or trying to get retail value for something that i could still return, i'd just rather it not go to waste (especially on the LE items). i try to be fair with prices, but at the same time, i've lost a LOT of money on some items because i've been too nice with prices. i'm having to be firmer now about not discounting multiple purchases, because at first, i didn't realize how quickly packaging materials and bubble mailers and stuff added up. iat the risk of sounding like scrooge, i don't want to be losing money on transactions..

i figure if people look at my sale, great. if the buy from me, i want to make it as nice of an experience as possible. i'll include extras and stuff whenever i possibly can. if you feel my prices are too high, don't buy from me. also, i like having online sales because it gives people in remote areas a chance to get more products.

I agree with all the posts. When I set my prices it depends on how much I paid for it or what I would pay for it if I didn't have it etc.. Sometimes I have something that I might not totally want to sell but either need the money or just don't use it. So I'll set the price higher on these items most being LE/Discontinued because if it sells for that then Great but if not then I'll just keep it.
