Color matching questions (long story/post)

Okay, I swear all the MA's that said i was NC37 was wrong.. i told them it was too too dark for me..

the MA then tried MAC mineralize creme foundation in NC35, i told her that it's gonna be too dark but she said it wasn't..

well after she applied it - it was SOOOO dark omg, like my neck/chest was olive/light as ever and my face looked sunburnt.... and then she said, yea i guess it's a tad too dark LOL.. she said "but at least your face looks flawless" LOL!

okay well needless to say i didn't get to buy it at that time because she was "too busy" to try the other colors.. and she just swatched the NC30 on a paper/post card to compare

i don't know how that would look on my face but whatever..

anyway.. today i stopped by the MAC counter today because i just so happened to be in the area getting my hubby and my protein supplements at the store we go to..

and i had been wanting new foundation .. well at least try different colors.. the MA that was there today WAS SOOOO helpful!! it was just a bit busy but still she kept her focus and attention on me.. even joked and laughed with me.. and i actually had a really great experience!

well she put the studio sculpt on me the NC30.. she said it was a bit dark for my and a little too olive.. and she said NC37 is just way too dark for me (i totally agreed)..

and then i found my true love LOL. she put NC25 on me and it was looove at first site! omg omg omg! i love the finish of the foundation and just how it melted with my skin.. althought my forehead is darker than the rest of my face, she told me it did still look real good, i just have to be mindful when i'm blending up there..

sorry had to plug in me testing out my new foundation.. (didn't get the blush though - she used Peaches)

i also asked her to show me how to properly apply blush

because i told her i noticed i either apply it and it goes on blotchy or it just fades away.. well she grabbed a brush and told me step by step how to on one side.. and then she had me do it on the other side and fixed whatever i was doing wrong lol..

and then she even taught me how to contour i was so happy! i ended up walking away with the studio sculpt foundation and a GPS in slick black! lol

i also saw they still had the paint pots: Artiface, Delft & Fresco Rose.. i was like omg!

lol so definitely next payday i'm going to get ALL three!

Now i was wondering now that my face matches the rest of my neck/chest lol.. would i still be NC25 in other foundations?

in summer would i be NC30? (i don't plan on tanning though because of topical acne medication i have to stay out of the sun).. but i'm guessing i would get a bit tanned naturally from other activities i'd do..

The powder i use is NC35 SHeer Pressed powder, should i still keep it? or what color should i get NC30?

Also for concealer - what color would i use? because the NW25 kinda was orange on my skin when i went outdoors should i do NC30 MAC Select cover up? and how about studio finish?

thanks for reading my long story LOL! i'm just so happy today that i was actually impressed and in awe of the color match today LOL.. usually after an MA would put a color i'd just be like.. ohh it's nice.. and they'd walk away lOL.. but i'm real happy today

Studio sculpt runs slightly darker, in all other foundations I am an NC30, however the SS is an NC25 for me. In all honesty all of the foundations are off a bit, so whenever you plan on switching to a different formula, make sure you try out the colors! I do love studio sculpt, I just wish my face loved it too. As far as the concealer goes I mix nw25 (do this under my eye first) then I put a little nc30 over it to balance it out. If I use just an nc it doesn't look right. I use the nw25 in either studio finish or select and then the nc in the moisture cover since I'm using it more for it's color than how well it covers. The nc35 sheer should be fine since it's a sheer and deposit as much color as let's say the studio fix powder does. I hope that helped you!

thanks a lot - i actually never knew the formulas were different for each different one! thanks for that..

i'm actually almost done with my sheer select powder and will need to get another one soon.. so you think i should stay with NC35? or go down to NC30?

Do you tan easily? How does the nc35 look currently? Without seeing you in person, my only guess would be if you tan easily during the summer months stick with the nc35 and once you loose your tan invest in a lighter powder.

i do tan easily, but that was before when i was able to sit out in the sun and tan, but i'm on medication that i cannot stay out in the sun or i will burn lol..

and so that's why i've gotten so light the past few years..nc35 looks really dark compared to the rest of my body (well neck/chest area).. and it's very very olive colored. the nc25 looked perfect like an exact skin match.

and so right now if i just wear the NC35 (studio powder foundation) it's really dark.. and makes me look sunburnt especially since im a bit oily and i guess it oxidizes?

but for powder i think i want to stick with the sheer pressed powder.. and that one i use very lightly of so i dont think i use enough to see anyway.. it just gives me a flush of color if i just apply it..

In my experience Studio Sculpt ran a lot lighter than Fix Fluid. SS NC15 was perfect for my skin, but SFF NC15 is too dark, I can only use it in summer (and mixed with moisturiser)

You should definately get colour matched again if you switch formulas.
