Oh wow, I think I'm insane now. For my first MAC purchase ever I'm spending a lot. 2 lipglasses, 2 eye liners, 6 eyeshadows, 1 MSF, 1 canvas paint, x15 eyeshadow palette, 1 blush, 1 foundation and 1 angled sponge. AHHH I think I'll go crazy after I buy all of that. Oh well. I'll have 600$ left over for me to continue my clothing shopping spree

This is all happening the weekend of the 26th, all feel excited for me lol. PS, where can I find pictures for the new collections coming out the 24th? Since I can get some things maybe when I'm shopping at MAC. Oh and, for your guys first MAC shopping experience, what did you buy and how much did you spend?

my first was an eyeshadow at Nordstrom back in 95'.... way, way, way before I ever knew what MAC would ever mean to me years later. It was till 6-8 years later that I even thought about getting more makeup stuff from MAC... they just fell off the rador for me till about two years ago!

Have fun with your haul!

You'll need a coupla good brushes...even the best makeup isn't so great when you don't have the proper tools to apply! Since they're expensive, I'd go with the #187 and the #224 or #242 - I could survive quite happily if those were my only two brushes! Where in Ontario are you? I'm in Sudbury

Good luck!

My first trip,.. It was a Sunday and I was Saturday night's left overs,.. stopped by the counter I had always passed thinking that is too expensive,.. and the girls are glamorous,.. etc,.. well it wasnt busy and Travis approached me and I told him I needed a foundation,.. explained what I wanted,.. and he complimented me on my leftover foiled bronze pigment liner,.. I was like this is Saturday night leftovers,.. he offered to spruce it up for me,.. he used Mauvism paint, Jest, and a few other things breath of plum blush and it looked killer with my left over bonze liner,.. I was hooked! I got my first hyperreal foundation, pressed powder, strobe cream, breath of plum blush, and it just escalated from there,...I started with Adorn,.. (Went back to Travis and he suggested the Jewel Palette for Parrot-that lovely man!) I soon realized that those girls were only more glamorous than me becuase they had better products,.... Mwah-hahaha,. now all of them know me by name and ask what I have on!

BTW- mrstucker is right,.. good brushes are a must,.. which I already had some,.. I find that a mix of MAC, Sonia Kashuk, and art store brushes work well for me,.. the only MAC brushes I couldnt live without, 242, 187, 182 and the 224.

. I'll check out some brushes. Although I do have some at home already so I may not need to buy some, but I'll check them out and if they're better I may buy one! Or a couple lol. I'm so glad though that for once I actually have money to buy stuff! Oh and I live in London Ontario lol :p Kind of far from Sudbury!

my 1st mac experience was at nordstroms and i still have the artist's business card...
it was 2 yrs ago and i bought about $300 worth of stuff
i got a bunch of eyeshadows, amber lights being my favorite as i recall, liquid liner, zoomlash, select spf foundation, stick concealer, a bunch of powerpoints, a couple shadesticks, stripdown, and a couple lipsticks

that was an amazing experience!

My first MAC experience was a long time ago at Henri Bendel in NYC...it was Quarry eyeshadow (which looks terrible on me, so it's in the Halloween makeup box), Fresco lipstick and Rosewood (which is the best color ever) lip liner...oh, I forgot...Oh Baby lipglass.

My first purchase was from Manchester airport about 3 years ago, because it was tax-free and I always thought MAC was too expensive for me. I got Plum Dressing & Wonderstruck l/g. Plum Dressing never got used and got given to a friend and I've got through two tubes of Wonderstruck so far. Definitley my HG.

my first buy was dejarose lipglass and lavender sky eyeshadow - off ebay - and they both came this morning! i can't try the lipglass yet though, got a darn coldsore - grrrrrrr!

i'm not that keen on the colour of the eyeshadow, it came as a sort-of gift with the lipglass, i'm sure i'll find some way of making it work though...

now i'm thinking of getting a natural msf in light, mmm, and maybe some other beauties! what to choose, what to choose?!

when i first got into mac i spent 65 frickin dollars on the jewel palette that has parrot in it. hah only to turn around and sell it for 35. but i almost used up one of the shadows so oh well.... but anywho i got into the e/s from trying my cousins and was hooked. then came pigment samples from ebay, and slowly but surely i started buying lipglasses, foundation, blush and now EVERYTHING i own is mac. pretty soon even my tweezers will be mac.

I think my very first MAC purchase was a set of four mini-shadesticks (sea me, beige-ing, taupographic, and i forgot the other one)
then i looked up on here that girls were putting them under eyeshadows so i had the rationale that i "must" buy an eyeshadow to go with, so i bought honeylust.

that set the ball rolling with me!
