Concealer & Moisturizer Recommendations

So i did a search on here, and most of the concealer recommendations are for mainly dark eye circles.

okay i know some of you read my really long post about foundation recommendations and skin issues i had.. (if you didn't it's here --> click)

well i got a lot of great recommendations for foundations.. and while i'm still on the search for my HG foundation/powder.. i was told that it would be better to get a concealer for my problem spots since i'm not getting the coverage i want..

SO.. with that said - what are some concealer recommendations from you lovely ladies/gents?

I currently use the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda concealer palette.. but i've noticed that when i put it on it's cakey ... making fine lines appear and making my under eye area nasty looking LOL! and making the dry skin extremely noticeable on acne spots.. and i do have MAC Studio finish concealer in NW25 (my skin is NC25) i only use the studio finish concealer for the dark circles..

i watched in a YT video i should go darker on my concealer for eye area to cancel out the blue? (i don't know lol?) but this also makes the fine lines on my under eye noticeable and drying to my cheeks on my trouble spots.. i use the MAC concealer brush to apply my concealer btw.

i've heard of Graftobian, Coastal Scents camo quads and color corrector quad, glo-minerals etc..

so what concealers would you recommend that have awesome coverage!?

And for the question on moisturizers.. I went to sephora today still on the hunt for foundation.. and the SA told me that for my skin (combo skin - extremely oily t-zone and extremely dry cheeks/everywhere else) and recommended that i get a light moisturizer for day and one for night..but i was in a hurry and forgot to ask her!

What are some that you ladies/gents use for both night and day?

For great concealers with awesome coverage, I'd say Kat Von D's tattoo concealer. I've tried soooo many concealers for my acne spots and my dark circles and that one is definitely my favorite.

As for moisturizers, Clinique's Moisture Surge is great. It sounds like it's really heavy but it's actually a lightweight gel that works even for oily skin. I use that or a Neutrogena Oil-Free moisturizer for the day. For nights, I recommend using your regular moisturizer mixed with a few drops of jojoba oil, particularly on your dry cheeks. The jojoba oil really helped my skin smooth when I was on a crapload of acne meds that dried out my skin so bad it hurt.

HTH!

Haha don't worry it's not a silly question. I got mines at Trader Joe's. I think other health food stores should have em too. If you go to Trader Joe's, it'll be with the shampoos and stuff.

I wish you good luck in finding products that work for you. I know its frickin hard, all this trial and error. It took me about 3 years to find something that works for me.

I would go for tan or almond in Kat Von D's concealer.

A good concealer that I use for under the eye is MAC Select Cover-UP.

I'm an NC35-37 and I use it in an NW 25. Ever since I used this I don't feel like I have to worry about my under eye circles.

Hope this helps.

Khristine- What are you using to wash your face? You might be using something too strong and that's why your face has dry cheeks and super oily T-Zone (your oily T area is over compensating for the striping cleanser you may be using). Try something a little more gentle. As for Moisturizer recommendations, for you'd I'd use Kate Sommerville Oil Free moisturizer Sephora: Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer: Moisturizers

As for concealerss for under eyes, I use YSL Touche Eclat (Boots 7 has a dupe with the colors but unsure of the consistancy). I also like Smashbox concealers for under my eyes. For blemishes Maybelline Dream Mousse is AWESOME (about to post a review on my blog sometime this week).

As far as concealer is concerned, I second the reccomendation for Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer, but Amazing Cosmetics' Concealer is fantastic. I only need a tiny amount to cover my dark circles during the school year, lol! Also, if you can get your hands on it, I really love Barbara Daly's Concealer (I've been using it for over three years, and it has never made me break out)! HTH!

3 favourite concealers areeeeee
MUFE HD. Why? It comes in a ton of colours. It helps to balance both oily and dry skin. It has light refelcting qualities (so if you DO want to cover up any darkness, bam!). It's HD, so you shouldnt be able to see it, and its MUFE which i love because they are longwearing and animal friendliessss
MUFE full coverage. Why? While it doesnt have AS many shades as the HD, it packs a flippin punch. This baby is opaque. Its oil free (good to cover up acne) and waterproof. And i mean "Lets go on the slip and slide and then out for drinks" waterproof.
3. Amazing Cosmetics. its a fan favourite. It seems to cover really well.... i dotn know that much about it, but the women that wear it LOVE IT.

Ok, i lied. thers a 4th. Cover FX. i've just been using the cream fondation because there are more shades. While you might be thinking "Cream, this isnt good for my acne prone skin you fool!" its not oily. I put it on a lady the otehr day was tons of sunspots/hyperpigment spots on her face. We stuck we the foundation alone, and it did a pretty good job at covering her. She loved the way it felt too.

Moisturizers. Check out Korres. Its all natural and there is one for balancing skin. Since you are both oily and dry i would look into that one.
Two other lines i like for your skintype are Skyn Iceland for seriously stressed skin. And Ole Henreksen... It sounds like your skin is dehydrated. its not getting enough moisture, so it goes into over production of oils (your t zone) and is very dry in other spots. Look at maybe either sheer transformation, which is very moisturizing, or even the one in the green jar (forget the name) for oily/acne prone skin.
And if your having ANY acne problems EVER i suggest Lush's ocean salt scrub. It cleans out prones and kicks any breakout's ass!!!

A great moisturizer is the Equate (walmart generic) Beauty Lotion. It's supposed to be a knock-off of the Olay one but I absolutely LOOOOOVE this moisturizer. Plus, it has no parabens unlike the Olay one. And it's SUPER cheap. And it has SPF15 (there's also one w/o SPF)

I always hated using moisturizer before this because I hated the icky feeling on my skin, but this stuff absorbs soo quickly and feels great on the skin. Highly recommend you check it out, and if you don't like it, you're only out $6.
