Confused about Minerals.

I'm relatively new to mineral make-up. I'm currently using Bare Minerals but I'm thinking of switching. I bought a starter-kit and the first few times I wore it, it felt really good against my skin and it looks natural. A lot better than my old make up. But the price is a bit too costly for me and I want to try something else.

I love the natural look of most mineral make-up and the light airy feeling and I want to try something that doesn't make me look like I'm wearing make-up and doesn't make my skin too dull, chalky or flakey. I have probably combination skin with oily and dry places randomly. I don't think I have very sensitive skin. I do have some acne, so I don't want a mineral product that breaks me out even more. I use the medium beige minerals with BE.

So far, I've read that Alima was a good brand to go to and as well as Meow cosmetics.

Alima seems to be my best bet but I like how Meow has the bigger jars and things, but it's so confusing @.@ Maybe someone can reccomend which one is better or some other brands. The coloring choices are hard to find out too v.v;

I heard the coverage for it isn't very good and it feels cakey.

I might try it out just to test it. But I wouldn't really want to waste ten dollars for something I don't like after I use it. x.x

It's the best drugstore brand I've tried. Laura Mercier and UD are great but pricier than BE. How about everyday minerals, haven't tried it, but several friends have and they love it.

I heard it can become chalky, but I'll look both of them up and look more in depth into them. Thank you~!

I hear a lot of good things about Meow Cosmetics. Thing is though, they have SO many colors to choose from, it can be very overwhelming. Don't be afraid to email them and ask for help, and Im sure they can match you with your BE equivelant as well.

I have heard good things about alima as well, so perhaps you can order samples from both and see how you like them

I've been using Everyday Minerals for awhile now &I really like it. They have 4 different formulas for different kinds of skin. I have dry skin &I really love the Intensive formula. I tried the Original Glo as well, but its a little too "glow-y" for me.

It shouldn't look chalky if you are using the right shade & applying it correctly.

EM offers a free sample kit so you can test shades before purchasing a full size. You only pay shipping which is under $4. Its the best "sample deal" I've seen.

Most, if not all, other MMU companies online offer samples for reasonable prices. I just ordered samples from Monave http://www.monave.com which I've heard has awesome flawless/weightless coverage & Alima. Just because I'm interested in trying out something new now that I need a different shade foundation due to summer tan.

I've been using Alima's foundation for more than a year now and it's been great (I'm using W-5 Masala). It's finely milled, so coverage is light to medium. They have a huge collection of colors and can custom mix if you're between shades. Kate, the owner is extremely helpful and informative. Oh, and I've seen glowing reviews regarding their foundation brushes.

I've tried Everyday Minerals too. Their foundation provides full coverage and is okay. And you can't beat their free sample promotion. However, it made me break out after a few uses, so I switched back to Alima.

Hope this helps. Good luck in finding your perfect mineral foundation.

I loved Everyday Minerals for their coverage and color but without a primer underneath (I used MAC Prep&Prime Skin) it makes my face itch something fierce.

I'm using M*A*D Minerals foundation right now, and love the coverage and the color is perfect but I'm having a shiny-ness problem. I'm thinking that the minerals may be moisturizing on their own so I'm going to try it without moisturizer and see how that works.
