after 2 years or being afraid, i finally depotted some shadows for the first time ever today! i used our very own specktra tutorial with a slight modification -- i peeled off and used the label from the pot to label my newly depotted pan. thank you specktra!

casualities: a few teeny barely noticeable dents in some of them, and one big chip from shimmer moss! <pout>

Well, there's bound to be a few bumps the first few times. Fome reason I inevitably stab at least one with a finger nail. (And mine are short!)

Hehe, yeah I'm gonna start depotting as soon as I get the palettes I need. I'm gonna start by depotting the ones I don't care as much about (like Gleam).

If there is a minor mishap, did you see the tip around here about using alcohol to mix with broken shadow & putting it back into the pan? I did some the other day and had a little stab in the shadow so I wet a Q-tip with alcohol & dabbed at it & it smoothed it all out.

It is a great idea to start with one that you aren't wild about, or at least make sure it's not an LE shadow.

I love the Specktra tut! It's the only way I depot! I also remove the labels and put them on the back of the depotted e/s. On some 4 palettes I put the labels on the back of the palette.

congrats!! i depotted all 36 recently too! 3 of the e/s were slightly damaged, but i found it easier to melt the side of the e/s pot instead of the entire bottom. That way, it's easier to flick out. Enjoy your free lipsticks!

I have only depotted about 6, only 5 pretty successful. One fell on the lit candle.

thanks so much girls! i am really proud of myself! i still have a lot of eyeshadows in pots, but i can't wait to get depotting again. i started with permanent ones before moving on to the LE ones.

i am trying to decide which lipsticks to get -- 1 for me and 1 for my best friend!
