Coworkers-need help with this situation

Normally I shoot straight, I'm the one who is insanely blunt. But unfortunately I am polite. (DAMNIT)

Anyway, I started a new job. I love this job a lot. I mean I miss it when Im not there. I love the customers and I love the people. Except one. She's chatty. I mean. I dont want her to get into trouble. She's new as well and she's very helpful, but shes TOO helpful.

I mean if she sees me trying to get the head cashier she comes over to ask me if I need help (which is sweet) or if I'm in the middle of something with a customer, since I have such a one track mind, it breaks my train of thought and I have no idea what the hell I was doing or where I was.

I mean I hate being ugly but shes driving me up the wall. I got sick on sunday but had a hard time leaving and was trying not to vomit because she wouldn't let me go home trying to see what was going on.

She's nice, shes just a pain in the ass. I dont want to tell her her willingness to help is not appreciated, and often times I say, I got it or yeah hold on just a second, but I dont think its a good thing know what I mean? Any thoughts?

maybe just get a little bit of attitude when you say "I got it or yeah hold on just a second". if you put a little bit of "tude" in your tone of voice she will probably take the hint,try it. now if she doesn't get the hint,be blunt.

why dont you take her to the side and tell her nicely that it's bothering you... just be like "i dont want to be rude but if i need help i'll ask for it, i appreciate ur help but sometimes it distracts me."

Thanks guys, this has been bothering me for weeks and I finally said something in a very gentle way like sxychika suggested then she kept up with it and then I got the attitude and she kept up with it and then I just got insanely rudely blunt and I haven't heard from her since. I hate being rude and blunt but well....

Well, I'm glad you handled it, and props on trying to handle it in a polite manner first. Unfortunately some people just dont respond to that. I'm sure she'll be fine.
