Dark foundation

I have some foundation that's too dark. NC30 is all, not too many shades darker than my skin color. Is there any way that I could use it, so that I don't have to waste half a bottle of sff?
I was thinking of using to contour or something...

You could always mix it with moisturizer or luminizer to make it lighter. Or you could buy a white primer to mix with it as well or buy a new foundation to mix it with. Or you can use a lighter powder to compensate but that doesn't always work. Or you can put it away for a few months until the summer.

I'd save it for summer.

Mixing it with moisturizer won't really make it lighter, it will just make it sheerer. Any other solution probably involves buying a new product to save this one, which seems silly. The only other idea I can suggest is listing it for swap somewhere.
