Dark highlights?

I have dark brown hair & got blonde highlights put in a few months ago (professional highlights). I am not loving all the blonde & I want to darken it up a bit. I was thinking of buying boxed hair dye in either a really dark brown or black (if I am feeling daring) & just covering up some of the blonde. Good idea? I really don't want to spend another $100 & something getting it done professionally. Will this work or no?

just make shure you dont get any colors with a red base beacuse it will make you look like a pumpkin haha they always turn orange on blonde hair.

Also use foil in your hair or else its proabably going to bleed into the rest of the hair and look horrid.

When I went to a salon to dye my hair darker (I had had blonde highlights 2x over the past six months) the colorist had to fill in the bleached areas before proceeding with the actual color. If you're looking to save money find a nearby school where they teach coloring or cosmetology, chances are they provide student services at a fraction of the cost, and whenever I went to a school (Paul Mitchell or Vidal Sassoon) they knew what they were doing =)

Yeah, see if you can get an appointment at a Paul Mitchell School if you have one by your house. There are always instructors watching and advising the students.
