deep conditioning

I noticed that my hair is starting to look a little dry, due to the heat and sun and all that other summer stuff. I'm planning on getting my hair colored in about two weeks, what would you consider to be a really good deep conditioner? I don't want to damage my hair more than it is now, I rarely blow dry or use a flat iron - and it doesn't matter the price either, I usually buy my hair products from a salon, but if there is a good cheapy out there I'm all for trying that too!

Thanks.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask worked for me. It's a concentrated weekly treatment and it was developed to treat extra dry or over processed hair. I picked it up at the Wal-Mart for under $15.

Use a good conditioner like Biolage, Matrix, etc. Just do treatments at least once or twice a week. You can buy the Pantene Pro-V hair treatment. It help restores your hair and help prevent from damage. HTH!

There's a kerastase hair mask that's awesome... leaves my hair so soft I can't even style it afterwards.
Goldwell makes awesome hair treatments too.

using an oil treatment along with a deep conditioner also works great - just not at the same time. don't use an oil after you color though (within 24 hours) as it'll strip the dye off.

one long time and cheap trick i learned: leave your hair conditioner on for a longer period of time before washing it out. normally 15 minutes will do. any more and you'll have super soft hair.

My favourite deep conditioner (and I've tried many!) is Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrating treatment. I think a good leave-in conditioner might also help. I like Luxxtress from Nexxus and Lanza Hair Repair Leave -In Protector.

I do this! I get in the shower, immediatly shampoo, put in my conditioner, put it up in a hair clip, do all the other fun things someone does in a shower...Rinse thoroughly and Viola!

Yummy soft hair.

After I put in a deep conditioner, I put on my handy-dandy shower cap and let it marinate. The cap keeps it warm and steamy so it feels great after you rinse out the conditioner.

This is a good deep treatment, but safe enough to use after every shampoo.

2 parts silicone free conditioner (I use Nature's Gate Original Herbal)
1 part honey
1 part clear aloe vera gel (found at walmart in the lotion dept Fruit Of The Earth)

So if you use 1/4 cup of conditioner , ad 1/8 cup honey and 1/8 cup clear aloe gel

Mix the honey and gel together and heat in the microwave. Stir in the conditioner and apply to freshly washed damp hair. Cover with a plastic cap and a warm towel wrapped around that. Leave on for anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours, if you wish. Rinse with warm water, followed by a cool/cold rinse.

The secret to a deep treatment is not oil. Oil just sits on the hair until you wash it off. Honey and aloe are natural humectants (moisture) and are better for your hair. Hair is dead, it needs moisture. Skin is alive, it needs natural absorbing oil, like jojoba or shea. Jojoba is the closest thing to our own natural sebum. It takes very few DROPS of jojoba to moisturize the ends of wet hair, or your face. I use the jojoba (2-3 drops) as my regular moisturizer now and I have an oily t-zone. It just soaks right in and then I can apply my mineral make-up over it.
