I did this only once succesfully and broke many others trying to do it

I got my Curiositease out to put in another case and can still switch it about, but I broke so many others trying it really isnt worth the effort!!

Yes you can but there will be some wastage / depotting required.

With ur current Heatherette bullet, cut it with knife at the end (white plastic bit) and place it in pot. Then get a spatula (handle of teaspoon) and scoop out the rest of it thats sitting in the white plastic bit and add to your pot. Clean the jar.

Cut your perm lipstick the same way and place on tissue. Then scoop out HALF of it from the white plastic bit and put in Heatherette jar white plastic bit. Fill up half of the white plastic bit and then pop your perm coloured bullet into the white plastic bit and push down. there you go!

You should have a small amount of your perm colour left right at the bottom of the white plastic bit (of the perm lipstick jar) which you can put into a pot too or whatever.

HTH, check out youtube there must be something on there?! We have to 'rescue' a number of lipsticks this way on counter.

I really wouldn't chance it...But I would love to see pictures of this finished product too...everyone I have seen has the serious lean going on or breaks when you try to twist it up or down

I will try to get a pic later of my Curiositease out of its case - it CAN be donw... but like I said I broke way too many to continue trying with the others....

The lipstick insert is actually GLUED into the base of the bullet, if you can deglue it (I did it with a pippette and a drop of alcohol) without damaging the base of the lippie then you will be fine - its actually pulling it out of the bullet that does the damage I found.

^^pulling will damage, thats why cutting it is best. pop into your local store and ask them to show you how they rescus lipstick testers that get ruined by alcohol.

Sorry, I have nothing constructive to add, but I thought this phrase was too too funny!

Ok, I think this will help show what I meant about pulling lippies out of their casing, if you can get the inner out of the base there is no need for cutting

It doesnt affect the way it winds up either and it wont be crooked when you do becasue you havent actually touched the lipstick itself - it remains in orignal condition in its internal fixture. Here we go ~

You know, if you keep the lipstick upside down and let it heat, the entire piece of lipstick will slide out on its own. This can be done by letting it sit in the sun, or you can speed it up with a hair dryer or something. You have to be careful as you must handle the actual makeup itself, but once you've got two lipsticks loose like that you can just slide them in to the appropriate tube. Only damage is a slight dent to the tip of the lipstick from where it hits the cap.

panda0410: is it just that simple? just pull it out?

Sanayhs: thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try if the other technique doesn't work

No its not, thats how I ended up breaking some
ssad.gif
But if you can get the inner part out like that its simply a matter of popping it into the other case becasue they snap into the bottom and then just twist, I did it with a Ramblin Rose successfully as well and I intend to keep my Heatherette & Manish casings for the same thing.
Once they are out though its SUPER easy to switch back and forth because they dont require gluing back into place - like I said they snap into inserts in the base and then snap out again - the trick is to get them out of their original packaging in the first place because they are glued there

You can actually pull the black base off the lippie as well if you dont want to tackle the insert like I did and just switch bases - but it looks stupid AND you have to reglue the weight in the bottom of the black casing back in place - all lippies have a weight in the base. I would just rather remove the insert myself

I used a pippette and some alcohol and *gently* pushed the insert to the side, leaving a tiny gap - I dripped the alcohol down there, if you are good you wont touch the lippie itself. Wait for a bit til the glue is soft - then pull on the SILVER part of the insert and make sure you pull AGAINST the regular twist of the isert - I wrecked mine by not doing that and the lippies twisted up into my hands while I was pulling an got MASHED!!! Be gentle and above all patient... it does work if you can just be patient. You might need more alcohol but dont flood the base of the lippie - where the insert slides into the casing is hollow at the bottom and if you put too much in there the base of the lipstick itself fill up and into the lipstick insert where the lippie will drown in it and go mushy

Yes, I did that too....
