Depotting for idiots questions? *have pity on a newbe :)

I have a few possibly silly questions regarding de-potting.

1) Do just pro stores sell the empty palettes.

2) Why magnetic tape? Are the palettes already magnetised and this helps them stay in place?

No and yes. Any free-standing store sells palettes however counters do not, you can also get cover-girl palettes that MAC shadows will fit into. And yes, the palettes are magnetized

1) yes

2) the palettes are magnetized, but the shadows that you de-pot are not (only pro-pans are). If you buy the magnets with tape/glue on one side, you just stick it to the bottom of the newly depotted shadow and voila! It sticks to the palette.

I would def. look into magnetic tape stuff if you depot on your own..it's a lot safer for your eyeshadows!
