Difference in brushes?........

Is there a huge difference in quality with regular MAC brushes and those that come in a set?

Most of the ones I've seen in a set tend to be short handled so it depends on if you're bothered about that!!! I didn't think I would be but having used both, I prefer my full size brushes!
