Difficulty in applying shadesticks

Anyone has the problem of the shadestick tugging too much at the eyelids? Is there anything you do about it to make it slide across your lids more easily?

you could try to warm them up on the back of your hands first before you apply them to your lids, thats what i do! because yes they do tend to tug at the eyelids the first couple of strokes

The answer is Yes! I asked several MAs about this and they didn't have that problem. I was thinking, "Those sticks are so dry." I had to figure out my own way. ;( Anyway, I have to apply them either over the Prep and Prime for eyes by MAC.

it's good to heat them up a bit before you use them, like foxyqt said. you can also apply them to a brush or your fingertips and use them that way instead.

so nice to hear I'm not the only one finding the shadesticks so fricking dry and tugging....egad!
Will try some of your suggestions but man I'm not thinking I'm going to buy any more of them and just use paint pots. To each her own!!

OMG...i have the same problem with my shadesticks. To help with the tugging I apply UDPP or even eye cream to give it more of a slick. Sometimes I rub it on the back of my hand and pick it up with a brush and apply with that instead. I was actually considering taking all of my shade sticks and melting them down into pans/pots and just B2Ming them cause they're so difficult to work with sometimes.

Ok I don't have the problem on myself but I rarely use them because my lids are so oily. On customers I've noticed this and since I can't "warm" them up by using it on the back of my hand first I don't use them. I stick to paints and paint pots.

thanks for your suggestions...I tried blending my shadestick with a 224 before but it seems impossible, so I have never thought about using brush on shadestick. I will try out the warming on hand trick!
