Discovery of the magical world of makeup

How did you guys discover it? And how did you become an addict?

I began to play with it at about 15-16 years old and, as I always been interested in cinema since I was young, I really discovered its magic through movies and magazines. Next stop years later: makeup school. I never ceased to be amazed by all that you can create with just a concealer, a touch of color or a piece of latex (when it comes to sfx!).

Looking at my mom, line her eyes with eye kohl...I knew I was obsessed

I was a huuuge Marilyn Manson fan when I was 11 yrs old (and I still am) and I wanted to copy his looks.While playing with black lipstick and red eyeliner, I discovered how make up can change your whole appearance and actually found something to cover up my couperosis and *bam* I was addicted.

I've always appreciated artists who used makeup as a way to be subversive, be it David Bowie, Motley Crue, Prince, or Marilyn Manson. That's the reason I wanted to get into makeup, not only to have a living canvas, but to push the boundaries of what beauty is.

i just discovered it last year. growing up, i never wear makeup because my mom didn't. i started wearing just foundation when i was in high school. now i'm starting to use primer, foundation, sometime concealer, powder, eyeshadow and lip gloss. i'm going to learn how to use liner and mascara soon.

I started wearing make up when my skin started breaking out badly..around 15 years old. I need foundations to cover up the warzone that was my face. My ance has become much better however I still got those scars. T_T
