Do I have to stick to cool tones?

I've always been told that I'm a "winter" season when it comes to colors....I look best in bright, pure colors or silver jewlery as opposed to gold. However, when it comes to eye shadows, do I still have to follow this rule? I have near-black hair and light skin, but I've always wanted to try a warm palatte- like browns or coppers.....your opinions?

seasons are for weather and marking the passage of time. personal aesthetic preferences are for selecting colors.

my philosophy is that there's a fill-in-the-color-blank for everyone, regardless of whether they have cool, neutral, or warm undertones. it's like the other posters have said: just play with warmer colors and see what works for you.

Girl throw on whatever YOU feel looks good on you! That's what I do...I have black hair and fair skin and I wear all kinds of colors. Wear it and OWN it...

Hah. I find that those rules are true sometimes, but I don't think everyone should live by them. True, some colours do fit some people better than others, but it's all about personal style, and wearing it with confidence. It's all it takes to look great. So, just experiment and see what colours you ike best, forget about all the rules!
