Do pigments work better without primer underneath?

I can't wear shadows at all without primer as it disappears and creases. When i applied vanilla pigment over UD primer the texture didn't look right, it kind of concentrated in some areas and it was hard to blend and sheer out. Is it bad idea to use pigment over primer and if so then it's probably going to crease on me lik shadows right?

I can only use a base under any kind of shadow or pigment. It causes allergies if I don't after a while.

I use either Lancome Colour Dose or Lancome Aquatique. I have also used MAC Fluidlines with success, but prefer the first two for staying power.

The pigments look more intense with base under and stay on a lot longer too.

Hope that helps!

I've never had a problem with UD PP with any shadows or pigments. I use the sponge applicator to put it on a very thin layer of the Primer Potion (sometimes it will be a little streaky, so I sort of blend it in a little with my pinky finger) and then let it dry before putting anything else on. It gives me a very nice, even application and keeps the colors from creasing. Though I've heard of a lot of people having trouble with Vanilla Pigment in general (clumpiness and creasing), so maybe it's that?

I like the water based mixing medium for pigments, altho I have used a primer, the Mary Kay one.

i used the primer with pigments and it seemed to burn my eyes.
i like using paints or CCB's. and using the mixing medium REALLY brightens up the pigment!!

Have you tried something like Bare Canvas paint as a primer? I find this is fairly neutral and doesn't take away from the color of pigments...and it also increases the staying power.

I also like Benefit Lemon-Aid. (the horror!!! probably the only non-Mac item in my traincase! *giggle*)

I have been using mac CCB, paints, and paintsticks... find them OK, UD's primer is just as good, but my favorite these days is Laura Mercier's primer. Everything, even vanilla pigment comes on so smooth, like butter...
