No, I'm a scientist by training and have yet to see any evidence of psychic ability performed under controlled scientific conditions. These people are very good at picking up cues from body language and other observations and using both open and leading questions to obtain more information about you than you think you're giving away. A friend of mine was told by a psychic that she'd soon become pregnant and give birth to a baby boy. Nice thought but due to a genetic condition my friend is infertile!

Psychics are excellent manipulators, that's all.

How many people haven't been hurt before? This is probably true of almost everyone but it's a good opener to get you to believe.

Young attractive girl, not wearing a wedding ring - most will have boyfriends. Again, not earth shattering. She's also not going to tell you that he's a rogue.

Do you have any scrap of real world evidence to back up this allegation? No.

She didn't know whether your mother was alive so used a generic "older woman" and let your imagination do the rest. Again no proof.

all no doubt as easy to knock down as what you've already mentioned.

Yep, I do believe in psychics. Actually, I really love Sylvia Browne and Allison DuBois (the show Medium is based off her). Of course, I am skeptical of some things because anything that I can't physically "see" and things that are intangible warrant confusion...we as humans tend to need to "see" things to "believe" them.

Anyone else love Sylvia Browne and believe she is "the real thing?"

There's a lot of very useful information about how "cold reading" is done here, here and here

yes i guess ur right because a lot of these things she said anyone could have happened to them.

a lot of mothers dont like they're daughters boyfriend. (the older woman who doesnt want us to be together)

someone has died before in they're lives. (the dead spirt watching over me)

every has been hurt before. but now that i think about it more and more i dont really know if i was hurt twice. i think i was hurt 3x. 1 of them wasnt that bad but i was still hurt.

i dunno it was just really weird. i'd like to believe that she wasnt a con.

she also said that i shouldnt be too close with some people becuz they'll talk bad about me behind my back becuz they're jealous.

the future- she said that i'd have good luck.

but the boyfriend part she had a 50/50 chance of guessing. i dont think i gave any signs that i had one. i wasnt wearing a ring or anything.

I think her odds were much better than that as more than 50% of unmarried attractive young women will have boyfriends. Probably nearer 80% so the odds are in her favour.

you know if she was a con psychic wouldnt u think she would go for the more older women or men. u know? cuz i'm only 17 so i look like a kid but a lot of people say i look older. but anyways i'm just sayin wouldnt she go for older people cuz they look like they have more money?

i read some stuff about the cold reading part. and she didnt ask questions to get me started and i didnt give her answers cuz there were no questions. but i guess it was my fault becuz i did give her a reaction to the part where she said i was hurt 2x before.

I believe there are true psychics but I believe there are a lot more fakes out there. I have a friend who is most definitely psychic and everything that he has ever told me has turned out to be true.

i'm neutral on the subject but it's not like you shelled out a ton of money for a phone psychics. i'd pay $2 for a psychic to tell me my fortune

Well, I am going to be the standout opinion here but I do believe in psychics and ghost.

Now before you judge me, call me a freak and get started on writing your response please know that there is nothing that can change my mind. I believe because they have happened to me.

I don't believe in "true" psychics but I do believe that people can get "feelings" about things and have dreams about them. I also am very quick to think that if someone is charging for the "readings" they are not a true psychic. I don't think someone can just turn the ability on and off by looking at someone or talking to them and get "feelings" about them. I feel that everyone has the ability they just need to "tap" into. I don't need to see something to know it is real.
When I was younger a gal I knew would in some way make doors slam and glass break everytime she should get mad. It scared me to the point I stopped going to her house when I knew she was angry. You can believe what you want but I saw it happen and it even happened in front of the whole youth group at church. I realize that is not really being psychic but it's something that can never forget. She would also often have dreams that would come true.

As for ghost I don't really want to get into detail but I do believe that spirits are around us.

Like I said you can respond to my post however you like but don't expect a response back. This is something I believe and I don't care to get into a I am right, you are wrong debate. It's my opinion.

she didnt exactly ask me for money. i dunno what she was saying but she said something like 'the children will thank you for it' and she looked like she was homeless anyways so i just gave her what i had left, which was 2 bucks. but it sounded like it was for charity.

like i said i dunno.

OHHHH!!!! :::I LOVE Sylvia Browne:::::: I have a bunch of her books I rarely watch her on Montel but I truly believe she is gifted... I also believe in past lives and in pretty much what sylvia writes about but I beleived this before I found sylvia and she is so educated on everything and is straightforward that she's not a kook. I believe in ghosts and I think my Son has "connections to the other side" we watched a crop circle show and my son told me they are messages left for the gods he's seven and autistic and has too much knowledge on some things- I also talked about my past life as a child - But as far as psychics go I think there are some that are the "real deal" :)

I don't really think I do, but if I get sick enough, I confess that if they say anything nice, esp. horoscopes, I want to believe.
