Do you buy MU knowing that you won't use them?

Or you KNOW that you have an identical color? I got Ultra elegant and One Stem Rose Slimshine l/s yesterday knowing that I won't even use it b/c I don't even like wearing lip stuff...yet I have hundreds of l/s, l/g etc...How about you guys? Do you just buy stuff just so you can say "I have that thing"?

i do this. normally with neutrals - i figure.. i'll end up using it eventually.. which is normally the case. i'll be 90 with romp look alikes and backups.

Ugh, yes! I've been trying to stop though! When a collection would come out, I used to be like OH MAN AWESOME COLOR I NEED THAT!...forgetting that I have 2 or 3 VERY similar colors (hello Pink Poodle, Sweetie Cake, Malibu Barbie, and Standing Ovation!).

I'm going to go to MAC on Friday to Strange Hybrid it up...hopefully that'll give me some time to look at swatches on here and be like...HAVE IT!

I found my preference on colours/Makeup items change with time, so whatever I buy, I use them now or later. but have to admit I do collect some items (collector's items are not supposed to be opened or used ! ! !)

If something looks nice in the pot, I'll buy it.
I will of course not buy a color like electric eel e/s if I came to buy a neutral to highlight. But if I just go to mac to check out whats new and take a look at the purdy new collections IRL, I might leave with something I know I'll probably wont wear more than once (at home in front of the mirror packing on color out of curoisity).

No, I buy only those I will wear. I try to go through my makeup and check the ones I haven't worn in a while and make sure I wear it next.

I used to do that. I would buy vibrant colours just because it was so capivating in the pot, but the truth is I can't wear bold makeup to work and I wear colours sparingly on the weekends. I will wear it around the house for fun but that's the extent of it. I've seriously changed my purchasing habits to stuff that may be a bit boring but I know I will make good use of.

Funny thing is my favs are Teal and Old Gold but I hardly ever wear it out. And even though I probably would only wear it a handful of times I want Passionate

i did this before, buying stuff i really liked but ended up using never. i only wear make-up to work (which is only twice a week) and when i go out, but not to university, so im using it slowly anyway... i got rid of this on forums or ebay. now i have a wishlist where everything i "need" is on and if i want something else i first check the list to see if theres something similar...

No for me because I have a budget to work around. If I have no limitations I'd be like you too - buying stuff just because they're look pretty on pans/palettes/tubes. I've done that with shoes, sigh

The delima with me is that I'm obssessed with color. I have this insane need to have every color. I have a ton of clothes becuase i have to have a t-shirt in every color, a button-up in every color, a tank top in every color. It's a horrid disease. Anyway, the same applies to makeup. I'll probably not really use it all, but knowing it's there satisfies me.

I do it sometimes. I'll buy something when I know I have something a lot like it but at least then I know when I hit pan there will be a replacement for it. As far as just liking a colour, I did that with pure vanity l/g, but now I wear it sometimes.
