dream analysis

i posted about a dream a couple weeks ago that made perfect sense to me as soon as i woke up from it...and then last night, i had another really vivid dream. that's strange for me, because i don't remember my dreams very often, but i figured this one was probably just due to the fact that i watched borderland right before bed...THEN i was doing my hair and i was like "holy crap!" because it hit me like a ton of bricks what the dream actually meant.

so i'm kind of interested in dream analysis now, and i'm reading about it as a i write this online. fascinating stuff...anybody else ever read into this kind of thing? i could have sworn we discussed this before, but i can't find the thread. so! if you do, share please! i want to know more.

I wish I knew more about dream analysis- in fact, I'd LOVE to go to a dream interpreter because I often have dreams about small, weak and dying animals that are in my possession and no matter how hard I try to keep them alive, they die. It's so horrifying lol. What are you dreaming about?

I have crazy vivid dreams every night practically. Sometimes they are weird, where I wake up and I'm like wtf was that about?? Others are more realistic. I feel like I'm some type of freak though, b/c I have one almost every night and I can remember it and other people are like "I never remember my dreams." I've looked at a bunch of websites about it, but none of them ever have an explanation for things like swimming through an ocean of cherry jell-o or someone stealing your secret santa gift out of your mailbox before you got it, lol.

LOL. I totally quit with the chinese too late, haha. I seriously dont know, it's insane. I had the one about my secret santa gift being stolen last night, lol. I think I would probably be an interesting experiment, haha.

different things, but i'm pretty sure they're all referring to the same situation. it's like, something i can't figure out during the day even though it's always on my mind, will show up in my dream and make total and complete sense.

You could be remembering your dreams more often than other people if you have a really rigid sleep schedule - say you sleep at the same time every time for exactly the same amount of time each night. We go through cycles of sleep that last 90 minutes each, and each of them ends off with a 10 minute period of REM sleep - rapid eye movement. That's when you do your dreaming. So if you periodically get waken up during REM or right after REM sleep, your chance of remembering your dream is very high.

So tip for you if you want to remember your dreams (because we dream multiple times EVERY NIGHT, whether you remember it or not), wake up in 90 minute multiples from the point in which you fall asleep. So 3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours...good sleep times to remember your dreams from. ^_^

I have a lot of very strange dreams that I'm sure any dream analysis couldn't derive any meaning out of XD. They're seriously wacky.

^^^ so a person does what...Set their alarm to wake up all night?? That sounds like a terrible nights sleep not to mention too much work. I think I will stick with sleeping thru the night and not remembering.

^ Nah, just set it so that you wake up at the end of one of your cycles. By all means you can go ahead and do it for each cycle of sleep if you'd like, but I wouldn't want to suffer either haha. I just mentioned the hours of sleep that you could potentially be getting, not actually periodically wake up every 3 hours.

So yeah you'd probably just remember one dream. That explains why sometimes you remember dreams and sometimes you don't - it depends mostly on which stage in the cycle you're in when you wake up.

I'm not a superstitious person at all but somehow I belive in dream analysis and stuff like that. I've had dreams that have come true in real life and honestly I find the whole concept kinda freaky! A few years back I dreamt that my dead granfather came to our house and took a cup of tea from me. I told my mom about it when I woke up and she said that this is not good. Apparently in my culture, dead ppl taking something from you is bad news. So what happened is that my grandma had a stroke and passed in her sleep that same night that I had the dream

we found out a few days later and I still feel weird about my dream!

I wish I knew more about what dreams mean and why. I would like to get some book recommendation if someone has any

I love this subject. My dreams are very vivid. I've received revelation about some difficult things in my life, along with learning my own weaknesses that I needed to deal with, and actual warnings about certain people or situations.

Dreams can help us work through many things bypassing our own reasoning, fears, emotions etc.
Certain colors, numbers, vehicles represent certain things. For instance, if a dream includes say - you riding a bicycle - it may represent you feeling like you are really have to work/struggle/put a lot of energy into something by yourself.

My post would be too long to really get into it. It's something I find very interesting.

but sometimes it can be just the pizza
