Earthquake

I'm in Michigan and apparently my brother in law felt it... He called to ask me and my sister if we felt anything and neither of us did.

Glad to know there was no damage or anything.

I'm in Ottawa and felt it very strongly here. I had just got back to the office from a site visit when it happened. I was in my cubicle and one of the heavy binders fell on my head

Yep! I'm in Toronto too - near Broadview and Danforth - right along the Don Valley.

I felt it - scary! My house started shaking. Everything was moving - my desk, my monitor, my chair. I thought someone backed into our apartment, but I'm right in the front, so I was looking around all confused. I started yelling at my boyfriend and he thought I had snuck up behind him and was moving his chair.

I feel for ya - a highrise would scare the crap outta me.

I won't lie - I thought it might've been a bomb or something with all this G20 stuff going on!

My dad lives about 8-9 hours north of here near the Quebec border and his co-worker felt it in their parking lot.

I saw this on the news just a few minutes ago, and they said that it could be felt all the way in Michigan!

I'm in Sudbury. I was working outside all day and never felt a thing, but others in town say they felt the quake.

I am located in Markham, ON and I thought it was my friend in the next cubicle pushing her desk cause she was mad!

In the company I work for, there are multiple call centres and they all felt it! They even evacuated our Mississauga location!

The general consensus seems to be that people who were directly on the ground felt it less than those who were in tall buildings. For example, my friend was out for lunch in downtown Toronto, and didn't really notice it, but when she returned to her office in the TD tower, everyone was freaking out.

From what I've read, buildings sway more the taller they are --- I'm sure there's a specific physics phenomenon related, but I don't know what it is.

I'm grateful it was a small quake. I would never want to be in a large one.

I'm in Toronto and I didn't feel it. However, my coworker who was 3 meters away from me felt it and had asked me if I felt anything. I was standing, and she was sitting. When she asked me, we looked at something hanging from the ceiling, and yes it was shaking. Glad it wasn't a big one.

I'm in Montreal and I felt it.
I work on the 8th floor of an high rise building. And I felt the floor shake. I looked around and saw the leaves of the plants next to me shake.
It was freaky....I was scared.
