eBay MAC... Ripped Off

Ive been an ebayer buyer for two years now and its all been hassle free and rosey.

2 weeks ago i bought coco beach full size jar from a US seller. when i recieved it this week, i was really pleased but almost immediately after this noticed there was no label at the bottom of the pigment jar and none on the lid of the box- so i emailed the seller for an explanation.

she said the older pigment jars like coco beach had been in were made of 'more fragile plastic' (????) and have broken in transit for her in the past so she had transferred the whole thing into another jar. to compensate for my misery she gave me a 50% discount.

I was still suspicious and dissatisfied with her tall tale so i got home and swatched her coco beach for a mini vial i have and guess what? the colour was MUCH darker so i instead swatched it with choc.brown and it was identical. so quite irate at this point i email her and she categorically denies sending me choc.brown.

she has great feedback but shes more of sample seller- not a full sized reputable power seller. she then had the nerve to tell me she wont accept the jar back from me since its not resellable as i have already swatched it. the cheek of some people- she was the one who failed to mention she had been jar swapping and tampering. moron.

anyway, im still really annoyed and would appreciate some advice...

and the moral of the story...be aware for dud crap on ebay!

I read about a similar problem someone had on livejournal with the same color pigment etc. If it is the same ebay seller then it may be a problem. Do you mind if I ask which ebay seller you purchased this from?

Negative and did you pay with paypal? You can file a dispute with them for the item not being correct as depicted.

I hate Ebay sometimes!

Hell yeah! Save others the trouble. If you go to swap tawk there is a thread (actually many) about her and there is a livejournal thread where she did this to someone else (not sure if it was you or not):

You should leave her the appropriate feedback and file to get your money back through paypal-you will probably have to return the product to her...but oh well. And don't close your claim no matter what she says.

Let us know how it works out!

It's your call, but if it *is* her, this is NOT the first time and you're not the only one. I thought it might help you to know that others are being scammed in EXACTLY the same way (fake Coco Beach) by the same seller so you can report it to eBay and PayPal.

And, for what it's worth, when people steal from me, I have no problem "naming and shaming". No need for it to happen to anyone else.

I say report her. I recently bought some pigment samples from sofver, she sent them only after I filed with paypal a month and half later. So dont buy from her either.
I think it is ok to tell us her name becuase the point of ebay and feedback is for people to know that they are good sellers, but if she is not a good seller, then she should be known to people, especially here, since she does sell MAC.

Don't send anything to her unless paypal instructs you to. Good luck. I hope with a few of you coming forward she will stop this nonsense.

On Feb. 20th, I bought what was supost to be a full size coco beach pigment BNIB from my_bella_bargains on ebay. I always prefer to buy from someone here, but this is a pigment BNIB you don't see here often.
What I recieved was a coco beach pigment 1/2 empty in a provience box with provience paperwork. I was ticked off because I paid $36 + shipping. I've been waiting for a full size coco beach forever at a semi-decent price. I tried to work it out with the seller first and when they explained they had the box damaged right before shipping so they just swapped the box out (and didn't bother to tell me) and this is by weight, blah, blah, blah. I have lots of pigments I bought new straight from MAC I know what the non-glitter ones look like full. This seller was ticked when I said I'd take a 50% refund to be fair to both of us. They wanted it back (of course to re-sell) and they'd see if they could refund. I just did a complaint with paypal and I'm in the proccess for a refund.

Did you happen to notice the name/email on the account when you paid them by PayPal? I was wondering if this was YET another account by our friend E. Poston...

There was also someone on MUA who was ripped off on ebay with fake Coco Beach pigment - probably the same seller.

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience with her....I have purchased a few things from her and have been happy with them. I think that the pressure to be dishonest is getting too great on Ebay. I feel your sense of betrayal, I had a similar experience with a different seller regarding a fake lipglass. I say nail her if you can.

ita.. that's what i despise about ebay.. retaliatory negative feedback. imho they need to find a way to change this process.
