Seeing that we have a thread about favourite eBay sellers and MUA swappers, I thought it'd be useful to start a thread on eBay sellers to avoid.

Selling identical stock with made up names for pigments (Mythology anyone?!), thick bases, cheap looking product, all 'new' but without boxes, and batch codes that are for the year 2009 etc.

Certainly looks that way! Seller kalawatrd, who sold fake pigment to cutebabydoll6 and princess_semia786, who sold it on to me is a perfect example

I agree - i wont buy from those places even if the photo looks genuine. They could have taken it from another seller, or done the 'switch product' trick, and its not worth the aggro/loosing money because of it (thanks to '/paypal's obvious involvement in allowing counterfeit sellers to flog them).

At the end of the day if it looks too good/too cheap to be true, it is. You cant buy authentic BNIB MAC from these places any cheaper then your own country (including shipping) - therefore its not worth it to try.

boomersooners11 - Fake MAC samples in fake MAC sample containers. Hmmph!

speedy-serve is not a counterfeit seller but people paying more than $10 or even $24 for a 1g container of one pigment is just NOT worth it (as per description)!!! Pictures probably taken from other sellers: Night Light, Pink Pearl, Lovely Lily, Bright Fuschia, Blue Brown (RARE MY ASS!), Goldenaire, Deep Blue Green, Dark Soul, Fuschia and Golden Lemon. *unless the seller means that a 1g container is included with the pigment???

Terrible! Ive just messaged them to ask if its for the full jar (i know it isnt but i want them to try to explain selling 1g for 20-something dollars.) Id like to see them try to explain it to the buyers too!

The printing is off center on their boxes.. AND the colors are by number. And thick jar bases.

The sticker is on the lower left corner. The boxes are not good quality at all... the printing is inconsistent. And the first slash is more vertical than the 2nd. Signs of a classic fake. The base of the jars are also thick as well.
This seller seems to use the same photos as ebymom. Kinda strange. Crazy names too.. like Da Bling and Bang on Blue and Emerald Green... all the pigments are fake from this seller.

The shadows have 2 compartments. And strange raised lip on the inside. Yeah, and the colors are... by number. AVOID!

That would be an EXCELLENT idea except I've done that before (few times actually) AND they don't give a shit about it because the fakers do bring in money when they peddle their fake crap on eBay. Thanks for the heads up! I was looking on there to get some colors that are not in my local store and are sold out of on the MAC site and I was actually watching a auction by one of the people listed. Glad I saw this first! I love me some ebay but I will stick to clothes.

They messaged me that it was a 1g jar - im going to have a look at the feedback in a week or so.

Just sent my generic message to both of the sellers with the mirrored eyeshadows. Will have to see what they say.
