Hi Y'all!

I had a few photos lurking in my computer that aren't anything great but thought I might post in a 'Edie's duds' thread.

WHY do none of my photos look vibrant? I swear that they are 1000% more vibrant in real life. These are some of the very first ones I have taken so they're nothing great but maybe they can inspire some kind of ideas or something? haha

AnywayALL MAC Unless stated:

USED:

Pinked Mauve Pigment - all over lid
Iris Eyes Fluidline - To line top and lower lashline.

USED:

Pinked Mauve Pigment - All over eye
Entremauve Pigment - Lightly on inner eye
Jewel Blue Eyeshadow - On inner eye
Urban Decay Eye Glide Pencils in Electric - On lashlines

I haven't been to the beautician in a VERY long time. (like a year). Im so embarrassed. They are quite the mess at the moment!

These were taken a while ago before I was introduced to Urban Decay Primer Potion (I am forever thankful to Specktra for that) so I used no base at that time. To be honest I NEVER wore eyeshadow until September last year (when I joined Specktra) because I didn't think my eyeshape was appropriate for it.

In real life they are a LOT brighter than that on screen. In fact anymore and I would be a clown. haha. I will have to experiment some more and hopefully my course will teach me these type of things

Haha..thank you.

I guess I was once told when I was about 14 by a SA in Myer (it was Grace Bros back then) that I had an odd eye shape and that It was best if I stuck to colour just below the crease part. I hated that look so never bothered.

Until I found Specktra I never wore makeup! Maybe mascara and liner but thats it! Now I have just been accepted into a make-up course!

Just goes to show how we are affected by people when we are young! And why we shouldn't listen to them!

Thanks to all also for the encouraging words. I know I will get better. It will just take me some time )

You can use your Iris Eyes f/l spread lightly all over the lid as a base, and pack the pinked mauve pigment on top, for a MUCH more vibrant purpley shimmer look if you fancy trying something different!

Second the suggestion of using a base.

Finally, sometimes colours look brighter, prouder and better if there's a contrast to them: a smidge of a darker shadow blended into the outer socketline might make your "main" colour stand out better?

Oh Awesome!! I shall try the tip for the darker colour contrast as well as using the fluidline as a base (didn't even think of that as an option)
Thanks Showgirl.

AND THANKS TO ALL for being so lovely.
