Electric Eel, Oh How I Love Thee!

I am very shy when it comes to bright colors, though I seem to own many (electric eel, tres teal, parrot etc). Unfortunately, I look like a clown when trying to blend and get them on my eye.

I know practice makes perfect, but do you gals have any other recommendations on how to wear them till i get used to wearing them all over the lid or at least till I learn how to blend correctly?

I tend to stick to natural, neutral colors but desperately trying to branch out. What are subtle ways to wear the bright colors?

If it helps, I am a C40, GGG, Black Hair, Brown Eyes.

Well, you could try @ first to wear them as an eyeliner. For me that was the way to go, because I went from wearing your basic taupe & white to highlight to the wonderful world of MAC.
When you feel that it's time to branch out and wear parrot, tres teal, and electric eel here's my humble tip of the day:
My tip would be to use a base (paint, shadestick, etc) and to apply Parrot only on the inner 2/3 of your lid, pack on the color to the intensity that you want and then maybe use Tres Teal in the outer 1/3 and in the crease (make a V in the outer corner of your eye). Then the most important step is blend, blend, blend. I like to line my eye with smolder top, bottom(outside 1/3), and waterline and set it with either Carbon or Tres Teal and lots of mascara. (p.s. if you have Tilt it looks great w/ Parrot)
Have fun and I'm sure that some of our resident MU specialists

for a fun look, i use nylon as a higlight, swish all over the lid and into the crease, blended into the highlight. then i use electric eel to line. it looks beautiful, in case you wanted a punch of colour
