Eoraptor's MAC purple FOTD

Hi again ladies! I said I'd try a purple MAC FOTD next, and here it is. I used four MAC pigments- Violet all over, Dark Soul on the outside, Kitchmas as a highlight and a bit of Jam Session for sparkles. What'ya think? I hope I'm getting the dramatic look down. I just noticed I forgot to use my anti-frizz thing for my hair. On the plus side, I remembered to wipe off the pigment that fell on my nose!

Silly picture!

By the way, I'm going on a roadtrip to San Francisco until the 30th, so I won't be able to post until then! I'm leaving Saturday morning. I'll miss you all!!!

You look great!!! I just love the last pic!!!

Just one thing: try to "fade" the color as it gets closer to your eye brows, or just use a lighter hand close to it. Do you have brushes? What are you using to apply eye color?

I wish you an awesome trip... I always wanted to do a road trip through USA since I read On The Road!!! I lived there but I never did a road trip while there.

I know some like to wear mid-tone to darker colors up to the brow, but if you would like it to fade out to your brow-this is what I do: For most looks, I do my lid color first. It's either something light or midtone and then I do a darker shade in the crease and slightly fade it up, but not too far. Or do a darker color in the outer corner and use a color in the crease like MAC Kid-blend, blend, blend slighlty upward. Then on the browbone use a highlight color. It doesn't have to be in the same color family as the other colors you used-may something like Shroom, Nylon, Vanilla, Vapour etc. Or just look for a nice cream color at the drugstore. Almay makes pretty good single e/s's. I also think good brushes are key to acheiving great results. They don't have to be expensive at all. Sonia Kashuk (Target) makes great ones. And if you have a Costco near you, some of them are carrying a fabulous set of Borghese/Kirkland brand brushes for &17.99! There are eye brushes, liner brushes, powder brush, blush brush, eyelash curler, kabuki brush and more. Ok, I'll stop blabbing now

Thanks everyone!! I'll be sure to post pics of my trip (though I'll look like shit in some because we're camping on the way there, and it's impossible to stay girly while living outdoors).

Yeah, I had the purple faded. Then I tried to add the black faded, but I thought I did a pretty crappy job. So I just covered the whole area in purple, which actually made the color look more vibrant (it looked lighter when I was trying to apply it to the smaller area). So this turned out to be a contrast to my clownish look from December which also had completely purple and black eyes, but turned out much worse than this new one, IMHO. I've been using various brushes to apply the shadows- Estee Lauder, Clinique and Stila. Ack. I still need a lot of practice blending.
