Yep, I love my Essie.

I have maybe 30 of their polishes. Really all types of colours except really nude ones, I don't like that. I love their finish.

I have one dark, dark maroonish color that I tried once. I wasn't impressed, but I will try it again. I think their ballet slippers color or whatever is very popular.

I really like that essie has a lot of shades free of shimmer/glitter/holographic/metallic stuff. I really enjoy just straight color (cream/jelly I guess) without all the fuss. Luuurve 'bordeaux' because it opened up the gorgeous world of dark, saturated nail color for casper-like-pale-people like myself

What I don't like is that all of my darker essie shades get all thick and gooey about 1/2way through the bottle and I'm really good about closing them tightly, etc.

doesn't happen with any of my OPI.

I love sugar daddy and mademoiselle.

HATE ballet slippers, it streaks really badly on me. Options pink is also really streaky on me.

I know techs who will freak out if a client wants Ballet Slippers. It is a very "temperamental" formula. I find the best thing to do is use your regular base (if you choose) then use a ridge filler, 2 thin coats of Ballet Slipper and a top coat.

I'm a newbie when it comes to OPI, Essie and the likes. I used to just buy a ton of drug store n/p.

Recently I picked up 6 bottles of OPI (all gifts for my aunt) and I got Midnight Moscow for myself. I had to exchange two of the bottles for the defective brush.

Also I picked up three China Glaze polishes (Ruby Pumps, and two neons). CG is fun but the consistency so far is a bit thinner than OPI. Sorry for getting OT....

Essie is next on my list. I'm digging all the suggestions because I don't know where to start. Keep them coming guys!! TIA

essie has great milky light colors but their darks are good. they are often over-looked because i guess they don't stand out like opi but i really, really like them. my current faves are nude beach, sugar daddy, wicked, lady godiva and cocktail party.

YES! I absolutely love Essie. I never have issues with chipping. OPI is ok - I like all the colors but I hate the wide brushes. Essie is perfect in every way for me. I know a lot of ppl rave about China Glaze but it always chips on me (even on my toes) for some reason; and I use great base and top coats.

Nothing will come between me and my Essie!
