Ether troubles

Does anyone else have trouble with Ether MES? I got this because I thought it was sooo pretty... well, it's giving me grief now! First of all, I got one with lots of black veining so it doesn't show up all teal-y and nice on me. That's OK though, teals don't look so great on me anyway. I like it more of a charcoal/blueish/tealISH colour. I figure if I get Delft paint pot it will make a perfect combo.

But my biggest problem is applying it! It gets everywhere but on my lids, much like the chunkier type pigments (think Helium). This is the ONLY mineral eyeshadow I have this problem with. By Jupiter, Mercurial, Quarry - they all apply very easily. But Ether doesn't want to go on my lids, and I also have a hard time blending it.

Am I alone with this problem? Have you any advice for me?

TIA!

i don't have this problem. I use small amounts and use 239 brush. It does get a bid on my cheeks but i always wipe it off afterwards.

Hmm...I think I used the 242 (flat concealer type brush) and it worked well. I have been using that brush alot. I did find that with Ether I had a little fallout but nothing to really take notice of. I would recommend applying thin layers of the color until you get the desired effect. It might avoid fallout from too much product being on the brush. Also, pat the color on as opposed to sweeping or buffing the color on (if you aren't patting it on to begin with). Other than that you may want to try a base that is going to grab the color as you apply it to you lid - maybe a paint pot or ccb.

^^I agree.. I layer it on until I get the depth of color I want.. I found that if I try to pack it on all at once, more of it gets onto my face than onto my lids lol. HTH

Some of the MES were like that, I have Lovestone and Mercurial and both of them are loaded with gold veining and the glitter goes everywhere!! Try using them wet, you will get better application and no so much fall out.

You can try them wet, or simply just hold a piece of tissue under your eye as you apply (ooh, that rhymed, you know it's good advice!)

LOL! I'll try that.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I'll try some different brushes and see if I can master this eyeshadow better!

Definately use a sponge tip for this.. and pair it with Delft.. You will get a gorgeous teal. Cream color bases work good too because they stay a little stickier imo.. Good luck!!
