Ever experienced a ghost in your presence?

I haven't seen one yet but I have seen shadows of a lil boy that my mom has seen around in our house. It started when my mom told that in the middle of the night she heard something hit the wall from outside. Then when she woke up from it she saw a little boy dressed up in a dinosoaur one piece pajamas, he had a bowl cut blonde hair. And he was nodding "no" pointing to my room.

Second time was when my family and I were going to sleep and my parents room had the lights on because my mom was still up plucking her eyebrows. Our bedrooms are very close to each others so we can hear eachother talk even with the doors closed. So my parents lights were in my room cause there door is facing my door, we always leave our doors open. So anyways I saw this shadow of a boy thinking it was my brother but then when I think back on it looked like it walked out from my room, but I didnt think nothing of it cause my bros room is next to mine but I saw the shadowing bending down like it was gonna crawl to my parents room. After the shadow went away I heard my mom turn off the lights quicky and hear her go under the sheets fast! lol I was like hmm I didnt hear any "boo!" from my brother or hear my brother laugh about it and going back into his bed. I just ignored it until the next day I told my mom about it and she was like " i saw him too! he had his head peaking out in the corner while I was plucking." We were so freaked out by it.

Thennnn my cat freaks me out too because she is always meowing non stop at the closet most of the mornings, but not anymore which is good. But anyways one morning she wouldnt stop at all she was scratching at my closet so I let her in it. There is like an opening up on my closet ceiling we havent opened it or anything cause it didnt look openable lol if thats a word, looked like it was cut out and then pasted back in. Anyways my cat jumped up to the ceiling and started meowing and scratching at it. I told my brother about it and hes like "maybe theres a dead boy in there". I was like shut up! and my mom freaked. But thats my lil story. Still gives me the chills but havent seen any shadows and my cat hasnt been wanting to scratch up my closet anymore.

On a bunch of occasions but a couple of note:

A couple years after my mom passed away, she came to visit me while I was staying at my grandmother's house, where she grew up and where she lived until she died - she checked on me while I was in my room watching tv late at night. Scared the hell out of me but we have a lot of contact now so she knows not to sneak up on me like that. And then in my grandmother's bedroom, you can hear my grandfather, who passed away in 1993, getting ready for work in the morning. Let me tell you, the first time I slept in that room and heard and physically felt him moving around the room, it scared the crap out of me!

Then we have a ghost cat in my house. He's gray ad his name is Henry. From time to time, Tilly, our non-ghost cat, plays with him, though mostly I just get a whiff of him walking by or blazing through on his way somewhere. A very sweet kitten.

And then in college, I had a friend whose parents lived in an old house that was built around 1860. That place was positively TEEMING with ghostly activity. People showing themselves in the mirror in the ballroom, that scared me the most. When I would drive by at night, I could see people in the basement windows and in the windows of their carriage house/ garage. Irrespective of the time, day or night, there was almost always a woman in the yard - I think she was a nurse.

All the ghost action is always in older homes in those times. I'd love to live in a nice victorian house, but Im afraid there could be some ghosts in those kind of houses.

Man, where should I start!

A very close relative of mine saw an apparition in a quiet cinema theatre once. On other days the theatre is very crowded, but on that day it was very quiet. The apparition was a middle-aged man with glasses and he wore modern clothing. He appeared normal to my relative. Shortly after he sat down, the apparition slipped down from his seat and vanished into the front seats (!). Bizzare.

One of my closer friends in junior college saw a white figure outside our gym toilet (which is known to be very haunted, argh).

I grew up in an old house (built in 1904), and you can feel a certain "energy", I guess. A few family members have seen apparitions, but not in a while. The strangest thing to me is my grandfather's old room. He passed away in the early 80's, but you can still sometimes pick up his scent in there. It got to the point where if I did smell him, I would say hello to him, haha.

In my dad's old house I used to hear and see things all the time. The most disturbing was when I woke in the middle of the night because I could hear this chiming sound. It sounded like those records/tapes we had as kids that had a book you read along with and when it was time to change the tape there was a chime. When I kept hearing the chiming I thought my brother across the hall had gotten up and was screwing around. I went to get out of bed but there was a large sharp looking knife on the floor. It scared the heck out of me so bad I could not move and did not budge until morning and the knife disapeared.

Also in the area where my fathers house was there was a fire years ago that burnt all of the homes on that street. The only home that survived was my neighbours. When I was in high school her home caught fire and burnt to the ground. Everything in the house was burnt except the bibles in the house were untouched. A table that had a stack of books on it had a bible in the middle of the stack. The table and books on top and below the bible burnt to ash but it was perfect aside from some water damage. Also the spot where my Dad had built his house had a hotel on it at one time that had been lost to fire and then 2 years ago he lost his home to fire. I think the area is cursed myself.

I've had one real encounter. When I was 12 or so I stayed the night at a friends house it was a house built in the 1890s and used to have wakes in it. Anyways her parents were downstairs watching TV and we heard footsteps from the back of the hall to the front of the hall, nothing huge.

My husband has seen ghosts and my mom has too- she worked in nursing homes for years and has some stories! My mom will tell them to go to the light and not be afraid.

I love ghost stories though. I think the house I lived in last year was evil- I just never felt comfortable even though I never heard anything in it. I've never felt safer than when I lived in New Mexico on a reservation in a 1000 year old Pueblo that was always being blessed by the priests. I felt like it was a good place eventhough I heard alot of negative things. I love being in the ruins of ancient pueblos, I really felt at home there. Its neat hiking up on the reservation (this reservation was closed off to outsiders to hike on it- very closed society)- I know one thing that was strange when we were up on Mesa's on ruins of ancient villages it was always like you are afraid to speak above a whisper and didn't want to disturb the "people" that had lived there. Its an odd feeling.

OK thats freaky!!! I had a false wall in my basement last year and it totally freaked me out, but the only thing I found back there was a stack of old porn. I'd be checking the ceiling out if I were you - probably bones of a mouse or something.

My aunts house is crazy.. My three year old cousin died in '00, and she loved to take coins and drop them and leave little trails. I was over her house during new years and we were putting my baby cousin to sleep when we heard coins dropping in the basement. Sure enough we go down to stairs, and there is a trail of coins leading from the table to the toychest. Noone was in the house except for us two, the baby cousin, and my uncle (who always falls asleep by 7, lol) Probably one of the weirdest nights ever.

My sister has had some expirience, such as she feels someone sit down on her bed next to her and rub her back. She also said that she wakes up inthe mid. of the night and has a woman standing over her. We think it was my grandma. She used to always rub my sisters back and watch her sleep.

My sisters friend sees her other friends sister all of the time. The first time it got them into a car accident when she freaked out when she looked in the rearview mirror and seen her sitting next to my sister. She says that she always sees her now.

This stuff creeps me out though. I'd rather not believe it, because sometimes it scares me to death,but ido...

Well, I'm a Christian so I don't know if I necessarily "believe" in ghost stories and stuff. But I do know that while I was on the Queen Mary 2 (docked in Long Beach Harbor) I took one of the ghost tours. I thought it would be really dumb, but it turned out to be kinda cool. Anyways, the leader of the tour had had us all walk through this one opened doorway/portal type thing. And as you were standing in the doorway you could feel the temperature drop and it gave me chills. After we had passed through he told us that several men were killed in that very spot. I felt something, but sister said she felt nothing. ?? All I know is that I don't play around with that shit. Cuz there are some things not meant to be messed with.

I don't believe in ghosts, although a lot of my very close friends solemnly swear that they have seen them. I believe in overactive imaginations, and everything [weird] that happens, in my mind, has a real solid explination behind it


Although I'm not closed to the idea, I say, ghosts, bring it on, let me know you exist

i've seen things but i don't even assume to know what they are. one of the things i saw when i wasn't alone & the girl w/ me as well as my dog saw it. amazing stuff. we know so little if you really ponder it.

I don't know,.. Call me silly if you will but I think we'd have to be a very vain species indeed to think we are the only dimension of life going on at any one time, and even more vain to think we are the only beings in this vast universe that have evolved or been created. My girlfriends and I get into this discussion when we kick back with a glass of wine for the evenings,...there are thousands of interesting theories out there,...Personally I am very open to these things,..and had too many odd experiences myself to discount anything.

I totally agree with you. I think we arent the only species in this world. I have heard and seen things about ghosts, creatures, and UFOs. I know a site that has all these weird ancient creatures and other weird looking animals that we have never seen before. I will try to find the site and give it to you, if you read through the stories and look at some of the pictures its really interesting. I know its off topic but its just stating that we arent alone!

Maybe ghosts are just trapped spirits. You know, who can't "let go" and "go to the light"?? Demon possession is a totally different thing. i think some 'haunted houses' are just house that have seen so much evil and death that it can't go away. But then I ask myself, so do you think your house is a living thing?? I just don't know.
