Just wondering if anyone can tell me...I use MAC Prep and Prime on my face. Can I use it on my eye lids as well or is that a no no? I am new to using primer and from what I have read everyone seems to suggest an eye specialized prime. Just wondering why. Thanks!

Re: Eye lid primer

I would avoid using MAC's Prep+Prime Face on the eyes for a couple of reasons:

1. The eyes are more delicate than the face. Products which can be used on the face may not be gentle enough for the eye area.

2. It seems that Prep+Prime Face would not dry down enough and would feel creasy and greasy on the eyes.

MAC_Whore is right. Face products are (generally) more emollient and moisturizing and creamy than eye products. I would try a Paint or a Paint Pot for eye priming. =)

Actually MAC sells the "PREP & PRIME EYES", and it's specially made to prep the eye lids!!!
Then afterwards if you want, you can put on the paint pots...
(well that's what I do, and it makes blending a lot easier ;D)

Good point. I forgot to mention that. They do sell Prep+Prime for the eyes, but I just hate it. It is too thick and creasy. If you are looking for a neutral eye base, I find that Select Cover Up concealer from MAC works better.

I dont really like MAC prep and prime either. I think its a tad on the greasy side. But I do like that you can buy it in different shades whereas UDPP and Too Faced shadow insurance just come in that beige-y tan.
Clinique have a good eye primer too but I've forgotten its exact name.

The Prep & Prime EYE made my lids so oily and greasy. And I don't have oily lids to begin with! :\
Its such a dull product, don't get it!

Just use a shadow base for your eyes to prep them. i.e. UDPP, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Paints or Paintpots.
