Eye make-up on mature skin..

My past few appts have been on older people [i'm talking like 40+] and i've been having trouble apply eyeshadow on them because their eye lids are wrinkly.. the eye shadow doesn't glide on as smoothly, especially when doing eyeliner on the upper lid. I've been successful, but it just takes me longer to apply. I've applied fast response eye cream, paints/shadesticks/ccbs as bases. Any tips on working with wrinkly eye/phoofy lids? Any help is greatly appriciated!

Yeh i have trouble with older skin too, i just stretch it out when applying liner to the upper lid (sounds so gross) from a diagonally-up angle so i get close to the upper lash line.
