Eyeshadow creasing is when the eyeshadow creases with your eyelid. You can prevent this by using a primer such as mac's eye primer or urban decay's primer potion. Both are great!

I've had this problem but I found different ways to fix them

Matte Cream plus Cream Colour Base
Paint with Concealer
Prep and Prime Eye with CCB

I agree, using primer will prevent creasing and fading. My HG now is paint+cream e/s like CCB and Artdeco e/s primer

I've found that using mac and bare canvas paints I really don't have this problem, I'd have it with my walmart makeup before mac... :)

Eyeshadow 'creasing' is when your eyeshadows just blob on your crease and fade everywhere else, they usually look like a thick line of shadows on your crease.

I've never had this problem either, and it only occurred to me couple of weeks ago that my eyeshadows don't ever crease because I have dry lids. So one day I did a lil experiment and put a tiny bit of vaseline of my lids and yep! my shadows creased! Lol it's not really an achievement but I finally knew what it looked like on my own lids!

basically, it looks like shit. lol. you can tell when your eyeshadow creases when you close your eyes and see that's starting to disappear around the "creases" of your eyelid if that makes sense. it also may appear as if you've just applied it in the areas where your eye "creases" but it's faded everywhere else.

you can prevent this by using a good e/s base. personally, i LOVE MAC paints and MAC bare canvas paint is my staple. other people use MAC shadesticks or MAC paints + MAC CCBs as a base. i've heard raves about urban decay's eyeshadow primer potion, tho i've personally never tried it. you could also use L'Oreal decrease, or foundation on the eyelid then set with powder.

Its when the shadow melts into the crease of your eye socket.

imo, MAC's bare canvas is a god-send. my e/s used to crease all the time until i found this and the prep + prime for eyes. i also have shadesticks but don't use them as often because i just love my bare canvas.

I find that shadesticks make things crease on me.

Thanks Tepi!!! (and to all the other great gals). I'm glad I finally know what "creasing" is...hopefully it won't happen to me, but if it does, at least I'll know what it looks like

Since I have no crease (asian eyes lol) I have no idea was creasing is. Although I have the problem of eyeliner creasing since that's where my fat folds haha. But I solved that problem

I am a huge fan of the paints... But i have a question for all your lovely ladies:

Which brush, and what technique do you use to apply your paints? I've been using just a emolient based brush and putting it on like all over shadow, lately I've started using my 216 (black blender brush) and am finding I like that a bit better when I blend it into my eyelid with circular motions.

GIMME YER IDEAS!

the 228 (mini shader brush) if you feel like dropping $18.50 on such a dinky brush...but it's so tiny and it gets the job done when applying paints. i just use my ring finger...paints are bases and they don't have to be perfect.
