Eyeshadow Display unit

Hi Guys! I'm in the process of designing and manufacturing an eyeshadow display unit to hold MAC shadows. The unit will hold 25 small shadows (5 across and 5 down). It will be brushed aluminum and is about 12" x 12". I'm still trying to convince my husband that this is a good idea and that I'm not the only girl out there who owns a million eyeshadows with no where to put them. I would love to hear your thoughts...

Actually, at this point, with all the oversized shadows MAC has been coming out with, maybe one sized for those would be even better. A lot of the oversized ones are particularly beautiful with mineral veining or embossing - those would be great on display.

At some point I'd love to do other units designed for the mineral/pro longwear shadows and even a blush unit. The one in the works fits the small shadows :)

Another thing to consider is you can de-pot the small shadows and store them in a palette, while the MES pretty much you can't, so a display stand for those would have a broader potential customer base.

If your concept isn't too far along, it's something to seriously consider.

I think you should make them all sizes to fit the big and small shadows and sell them on etsy. I have no carpentry skills whatsoever or I would love to build one. I bet there a quite a few ladies who would love a storage unit like this...

I think it's a great idea with a big potential. Although, lots of people depot their shadows because they don't have room for all the loose shadows. Putting them in a display takes also a LOT of space. Maybe it's more practical if you'd make a wall display for eyeshadows with a magnetic system in it, since MAC shadows already have the magnetics in them? I think people have more wall space available than 'floor/desk space'.

I agree - I'd say be careful of how large the unit is. Most girls might not have that much room for a large display unit (but love the idea!) So if this unit can be as compact as possible, that'd be perfect! :)
