Eyeshadow Finishes

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to MAC and I am just wondering about the eyeshadow finishes. Which ones are the best, and which ones should be avoided. Thanks!

I think it's more of a personal preference. For me, I really love veluxe pearls and don't like lusters.

I hatehatehate lustres!!!
I love Veluxe Pearls, Mattes, and Frosts though!
pretty much anything but lustres is great IMO.

To me the Veluxe pearls and the frosts blend better and are softer in texture. I've heard some other finishes make the shadows chalky, brittle, and harder to blend. I'm assuming those are the lustres...

i like veluxe pearl, frost, and satins.
don't really like velvets..

Veluxe Pearls & Frosts are the best! Velvets, Mattes and Satins are kinda ok but a bit harder to work with.. and Lustres ugh those suck >_< except for a few good ones like Aquadisiac, Mythology, Tempting..

Sorry to hijack, but didn't know where else to ask. If an eyeshadow is described as (V) does that mean it's a velvet or veluxe?

V is Velvet
VX is Veluxe

I love the Frosts, Veluxe Pearls, and Mattes.

Sometimes it's hard for me to get Satins, Lustres, or Velvets to work.

Almost every single lustre I've had has broken on me... has that happened to anyone else?

I made a list on excel of everything I have and I noticed most are frosts... I really like veluxe pearls as well.
