eyeshadow recs for NC35

Hi girls!
I'm not really much of an eyeshadow user (my previous stash were mostly old Loreals and Maybellines), but I've decided to jazz things up this New Year's resolution and invest in some e/s from MAC (because they're just lovely!) and finally do something about my eyes.

I'm thinking of a basic set of colours, one that can take me through from casual to a smokey sort of look. Anyone can recommend me their fail-proof, bottom-of-the pan shades that always work? I've been told that golds and browns work well with my skin colour; not to mention getting the Bare Canvas paint as a base.

Any thoughts on that? Oh, and I'm a student, so it would be great if the first set didn't break the bank.

what color are your eyes?
that matters alot!
colors that look great on brown eyes may not look that well with blue eyes.

well you can get a quad and have neautral brown colours in it like mulch or bronze, for your highlight you can chose between phloof or shroom. Antiqued is a nice brownish colour aswell...
If you want golds try goldmine, gorgeous gold and amber lights.

Hope this helps

My absolute, 100%, fave all time, any time, any look highlighter is Ricepaper for my NC35 skin. I love it because it just brightens up my face. Bronze is a great allover color and I'm also really liking Tempting right now. Good luck.

I'm an NC35 as well w/brown eyes and I love Ricepaper as a highlighter along with Blanc Type. Woodwinked is also another favorite neutral for me as well as Saturnal (unfortunately that was LE tho). I love Typographic to use in the outer-v and as liner (blends better than Carbon!)

I'm a C3 in the winter, but tend to go to NC35, NC37 and this year I went to a NC40 (YIKES!!), and I found that anything like Shimmermoss, Electric Eel, or any teals look great. Also, I had success with Golden Lemon Pigment, Mystery e/s, Amber Lights e/s, and dark purples looked great too.

Thanks guys! I've got brown eyes; think I'll start off with some neutrals and then slowly build it up with more intense, vibrant shades. Cheers and Merry Christmas!
