Mine do that too. I think that it is because they do get wet if you accidently poke them in your eye (like I do). Are you storing them in a moist-ish environment? That could be contributing to the lumpiness.

I have about 5 that are like that, not sure what causes it but now that you guys mention it, none of them are all matte...weird. when it starts to bug me too much I flick the little bumps off with an xacto....

My cranberry e/s is like that.. it doesn't really bother me though.. I mean you use them so they cant stay silky flat with hatchmarks forever, right! If it really bothers you, you could re-press them and they'd go flat again

There was a thread on this before, and don't worry guys, it's (almost definitely) not because of any bacteria or moisture or contamination. Powder products hardly ever harbour any bacteria because of their inherent lack of moisture to begin with - it's hard for any bacteria to grow there.

You'll see that shimmery eyeshadows have this sort of bumpy/lumpiness to it because of the shimmer pigment in the actual product. It naturally balls up by itself (if you look at a jar of shimmery pigment, sometimes you'll see little balls that form by themselves). It doesn't really look very nice, but doesn't affect the product in any way. Most of my more shimmery e/s have this sort of texture going on.

So keep on using them without worry!

^^ thanks for that! I've always wondered why they do that! My satellite dreams has little balls on the surface too.
