Fake?

Hi, could you look at this listing on ebay?
i have been so foolish to bid on this, before i read all the info on spectra

i really think this is a fake, what do you think?
and do you have tips how to deal with this if i win the action?

Did u ask for the names of the pigments?

if the person can't give u the names of the pigments, then they are most probably fakes...

and another thing, many counterfeits are from thailand. So my general feeling is that this batch of pigments you are bidding for are fake.

I feel that u have the right not to honour this bid if the items are fake.

It doesn't bode well, IMO, because of:

• The jars look too tall and narrow.
• The lids look too large and too rounded.
• I am always skeptical when the colours are not listed.
• The seller has zero feedback.
• Knockoffs are pretty prevalent in Thailand.

I would report it as a fake, personally. Then ebay may remove the listing and absolve you from any responsibility associated with your bid.

Golly and that same person has 3 other pigment sets with people bidding! Bah I don't know, I see these "great prices" and think---if it sounds too good to be true...... The whole "colors as listed in picture" scares me in addition to zero feedback, and Thailand.

I think MACwhore has summed it up perfectly!

report it as fake and you should be released when the auction is deleted.

yes, i feel so stupid for bidding! i joined spectra after bidding, and have read the topics on the fake pigments, and are really scared now!!

Sorry to tell you but they ARE definitely fakes.

Cosmetics in Thailand sold on eBay are ALWAYS ALWAYS fake.

The giveaways are:

• Base of jars are too thick
• If you look closely, the word MAC printed on the front of jars are inconsistent with the others
• The caps' heights look wider/thicker than normal
• Zero feedback
• Items are in Thailand as well as seller
• Crap english?

Ditto to MAC_Whore's post regarding "report the items as fakes". I would also report the items and won't go ahead with the auction. If you open a dispute for this auction, the seller will most likely create another new account to avoid the dispute because they have zero feedback and have nothing to lose.

Don't worry. I was like that as well. I bought fakes, decided to google fake MAC thinking that it doesn't exist then Specktra popped up with "Counterfeit MAC". Learned my lesson and had a verbal fight with the seller who is no longer registered (YAY!!).

At least you're more aware of fake MAC now that you've joined Specktra!
