Hi girls I have a question thats been bothering me for quite some time..here it goes.

I was given the brush set (gold handle face set) for xmas, i actually ordered it myself from the mac website. Whenever I go to was the mini se187 it leaks... What it leaks appeares to be like black dye. It doesnt seem to matter how thurough i was it, the dye still seems to wash out? :/

I also have another 187 and have absolutely NO problems with it. I do exactlly same using the mac brush cleanser.

Im rather disapointed, i know its so long after xmas but i feel like maybe contacting mac about it :/ Any advice would be great

I think it's not just yours though. Mine too. The first few times i washed it, it didn't seem to have any problem, but last week i took it out to use again, and when i washed it i realised mine was the same too. So i've come to the conclusion that all the 187se have this problem cos i've read that a few ppl on MUA have had the same thing happen too.

My full size 187 doesn't give me any problem so it can't be the brush cleaner i'm using.

its not faulty. its just the dye from the hairs. unfortunately the brushes in the brush sets are of lower quality. but the bleeding dye issue isn't limited to just the sets. mac uses different factories to produce different items, and even the brushes are split between different locations. these different locations each use different dyes, and some of them just don't hold as long as others. some of my 187s and 150's will bleed. just make sure they are completely dry before you use them to prevent the dye from getting on your face.

exactly! i got one of those brush sets from last year and my 187se has NEVER stopped bleeding, shedding, and it smells really bad whenever I wash it

I have the Lancome version of the 187 (2 of them actually) and mine have never bled...

I never knew the natural hairs were died in brushes... I thought they were naturally that color LOL.
