Finally a collection that I am passing on!

I just read all the descriptions for the Lingerie Collection, set to come out in December and finally my wallet can breathe a small sigh of relief.

Eyeshadow:
Sunday Best - ivory with frost (Frost, LE) …. Hmmm. We will see, may be too frosty
Flirty Number - dusty pink with pearl (Veluxe, LE) ….. Dusty Pink on my yellow skin? Nuh uh!
Taupless - light lilac (Lustre, LE)…. Lustres are my nemesis.
Black Tied - (Repromote)… What is the point of repromoting something that is a staple in so many girls’ collections? I think the repromotes should be for colors like… Parrot maybe?
Idol Eyes - (Repromote)…. Come on… why?
Slip pink - dusty pink with pearl (Veluxe, LE)… Dusty Pink again!?!?!? This must be a typo, I hope.

Lipglass:
Negligee - bright mauve with pearl (LE)…. Hmmm.. perhaps, perhaps.
Of Corset - light coral with pearl (LE)…. Does anyone have a problem with these light coral colors that just kinda sit on your lips?
Brown Sugar - medium beige with pearl (LE)…. Ooooh yeah, this has my name written all over it. Gimme some of that sugar….

Lipstick:
Lingerie - light lilac/pink (LE)…. nahhhhhh
Pink Maribu - rich pinked mauve (LE)….I would get this just for the name, that is how deep my sickness goes.
Body Suit - neutral pink/beige with low level pearl (LE) Yes Please!
Push - Plum - deep plum brown (LE)….Thank you Sir! May I have another?
La Bi Bra! - warm coral beige (LE) … as someone pointed out on LJ. Um… La-bi-a?

Pigment:
Goldenaire - Pink with gold pearl (LE) … I never pass on Pigments.
Lovely Lily - Liliac with red pearl (LE) …. Please see above.
Pink Opal - (Repromote) ...Got it.

Mineralize Skinfinish:
Naked You - Pale beige with grey and brown veining (LE) …. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Petticoat - Pale rose with gold and amber veining (LE) … Depends on how close it is to Stereo Rose but probably yeah.

So, I am probably in for $137.00 with Lingerie. I don’t count the lipsticks in the tally because I still have like 60 empties from my big de-potting project way back when.

Considering the money that I am going to be spending on the October goods, this is a huge, Huge difference for my finances. I thank you MAC for releasing a collection that does not work with my skin tone. Thank you for saving me from myself!

For someone passing on the collecton you're spending alot! (by my poor standards anyway) Looking forward to seeing whatever you buy on you.
I find the grey veining in the MSF worrying and strange?

I'm the opposite! Having said that I will focus on getting the four LE eyeshadows, mineralise skinfinishes and the Macy's exclusive quad.

I too have a hard time passing on pigments. Dusty Pink doesn't thrill me either so I can pass on those. The 'nude-ish' lippies will have to be looked at but they never quite look like the description so it's wait and see...

The skinfinishes sound nice, but I rarely use the ones I have! Like Sushi Flower, I'm kinda wondering about that grey veining in the Naked You MSF... another 'wait and see' thing!

MAC doesn't create collections for MAC addicts. They have collections based on what's hot for that season in makeup. They make all these LE colors for us, the addicts, but believe it or not, most of MAC's customers are not addicts. They come looking for help to update their look. MAC also may "repromote" a permanent color if it's not selling as well as it used to to remind people of what a nice color it is. I thin you'll be surprised at how pretty taupeless is regardless of the texture. It's a newer Lustre and a bit more pigmented than the old school ones . . .

As for Sunday Best, I'm wearing it on my browbone here:

It's a REALLY pretty color IMO - unlike any MAC has made before.

Whoever typed those descriptions, typed them wrong. Flirty number is a brown/plum (frost) - reminds me of banshee with a better texture. The name is La Di Bra! Not La-bi-bra! lol

I might be into the new pink pigment, I have pink opal already, and I am not sure about the lilac pigment. I think I need the petticoat MSF though, so I am not going to be spending too much money here either. I do wonder about the 26th as a release date though.........that's a Monday. I thought all collections were released on a Thursday. Hmmm?

I totally agree on everything you said DSG!

And I'm ending getting the two new Pigments and maybe the Petticoat MSF!

Sunday Best almost reminds me of Vapour for some reason, but of course a frost. And it *is* different than Vapour, but there's something about the sheen it gives off that's similar

I'm so excited about this collection. These colors seem perfect for my NW20 skin. Many of the brights are just well too bright for me. The pigments sound heavenly and the rose MSF I can't wait to see. As for the repromotes all the cosmetic lines do that in their color stories. It's like Risa says it's whats hot for the season and the repromotes compliment the new line.

Just for the record. That little blurb about the repromotes and Parrot was just a little tongue in cheek thingie. I do get the whole idea of the repromote thing but it was meant as a little joke, as was the entire post.

I did take it that way too. Even thou parrot might not be my color I agree with you that they should repromote it. It's very silly of MAC to come out with a color that so many people want and make it LE. All they have to do is look at ebay once in a while.

MAC discontinues colors and also has LE items that they don't make permanent or bring back because of a lack in resources. I'm not sure if this is the case with Parrot or not, but it's why Haze was discontinued among many, many other products. It's also why Mineralized Skinfinishes aren't permanent. By lack of resources, I mean that it can be difficult for them to find/produce the pigments necessary for that specific color. :-/

Have to agree on this...I noticed with all the new Lustres that came out with Lustrevision that they are a MUCH better texture. Almost as smooth as Veluxes without as much pigment, they are sheerer and much asier to blend especially over Prep + Prime Eye

I think MAC listened to all that were not happy with the original lustre texture/payoff.
