First Dermatologist Visit

I have my first appointment with a new dermatologist (my first experience was not productive, so I picked a different doctor) in a couple weeks and I was wondering what to expect. I'm going because I keep getting what I think are clogged pores on my forehead...but they're starting to go away. If I ask for something to spot treat pimples whenever I get them, which isn't frequent, is it likely that they will just prescribe it for you or do they usually hold off on that for someone with extremely acne-prone skin?

The first derm I went to actually prescribed me something for the spotty acne I had without that even being the reason for my visit (I was a bit irritated at the time, but I've been using the stuff for a few years with decent results). I'm sure your derm will present you with a couple of options. He/she might point you toward and OTC treatment and if it doesn't work, then give you a prescription.
