First MAC attempt

I'm sorry it's been a while since my last FOTD, but I've just been so unmotivated. The amazing medicredfearn sent me 42 MAC pigment samples, which I'm trying for the first time today. They're my first MAC makeup ever, and I'm very impressed with how easily they blended. Instead of trying to blend for ten minutes with sorta decent results, I get sorta decent results without even trying.

I really expected Blue Brown to be bluer. I think it should have been called Red Brown myself. But once I had that on, it seemed like I was stuck in warm colors today, so I made the best of it with some Old Gold on the inside, and Gold Dusk as a highlight (which doesn't show up well in the photos- grr). Then some Deep Blue Green (looks black to me) on the outer corner to darken it up. The look isn't what I originally planned, but it's something I haven't tried before. Maybe I'll try a MACed purple look next time.

You had improved a lot! Your skin on the chin area looks a lot smoother. I think your hair looks better too, not too round, more slicked down. You just need to practice more with those pigments, what a great RAOK!!!

i am totally digging this look, its a darker/night look i think you can totally incorporate with a lot of looks! you rock! Your overall look has vastly improved im so impressed. one suggestion. you might want to try a concealer on forehead just with the summer weather and bangs the hair oils will mingle with your facial oils to make for forehead acne(i get the same...ERRGG!) Be sure to exfoliate and cleanse everynight! MORE LOOKS PLEASE!

I didn't see where you started so I'll take these ladies word for it!
I gotta say (sorry Im gonna be honest) I really do not like the blue brown on you. Others will disagree but its not my favorite!
But the old gold? I LOVE IT!
You're just adorible what can I say?

You know I have looked at your fotd's over the past few weeks and you most definately have improved... and it finally dawned on me. Perhaps another way you could look more feminine (which I assume is what you are going for) would be using a darker blush to contour to create the illusion of more defined cheek bones which are generally a more feminine quality for bone stucture. You could then finish off the look by putting a lighter blush on the apples of your cheeks (the part that bulges a bit when you smile a cheesy grin) and then blend up towards your temples to hilight. hope that helps

Very nice! A couple of things about pigment (not sure if your fabulous friend explained) but pigment can be used a bunch of ways. I usually use a paint or something else a little wet to get them to stick to my eyelids - try putting a coat of foundation or concealer down first. Wetting a brush to intensify the color works well, too. Also, you can use them in clear lipgloss, on your cheeks - even in nail polish and hair gel. Have fun!!!

Thank you! I'm trying for more dramatic looks lately. I admit I never use anything on my forehead. It has a different texture than the rest of my face (covered with tiny nearly invisible peachfuzz) that ends up badly the times I've tried my liquid foundation on it. I'll post more looks! I promise.

Whatever you are doing with your foundation is perfect.

The same thing I always do! It just depends on how close of a shave I manage that day and other factors...

Thanks so much! Indeed looking feminine is what I'm going for. I actually have a bronzer, though I couldn't find it yesterday. I plan to use that to try and contour sometime soon.

While I was walking outside yesterday, my friend pointed out some old gold was on my nose! You can see it to your left in the photos if you know what to look for.

How embarrassing. I might try wetting or a base next time.

Yeah. I remembered to clean the first side off, but not the second. There's so much to remember about makeup!
