First Seminar...

I have a question. While I was at MAC the other day, a MA told me that there is going to be a seminar this friday. And this is at a Macy's in the mall, so I'm wondering if the seminar will take place in the little area that MAC has there? I've been trying to look for other threads about this, but no luck. I'm just wondering since the space is so small, will i have to fight my way to see what's going on? haha. Or is there another area that it happens in? Also, should I go in with makeup already on? Do they apply makeup on models? or pick people out and demonstrate on them? I have too many questions!

Hi there! I'm actually attending my first MAC seminar this coming Saturday at a MAC Counter in Macy's, but to be able to get a seat, I had to prepay $50, which goes towards buying products that day. I asked the MA if they were going to be applying makeup on anybody, and she said no. But I didn't get into too much detail about it. Also, there were only 50 seats available, I believe, so I had to book mine right away, because the seats were filling up fast. The seminar I'm attending is the, "How to change from A.M. look to P.M. look." The MA said that we would meet at the counter and somebody will actually escort us to the stage where the seminar will take place. Hope this somewhat helped you out!

They usually take a space in the makeup area or have a conference type room that they do the seminar in. All the ones I have been to at Macy's or Nordstrom there have been maybe 30-50 people so you can usually see all of the demonstrations. From my experience they usually take one or two people to demonstrate on and will pass around the products they are using for people to test. Hopefully this helps a little and have a good time! I love going to the seminars as they usually have quite a few good tips.

I would suggest calling your counter for legitimate details. There is no set standard for seminars. All we can do is guess.

Have fun.

Are these the same as master classes? I know I'm going to take a contour class soon, but I wanted to try to take some other type of eye technique class also.

i dont think the type of seminar the OP is talking about is the same as a master class. the macy's seminars are more for the general public/general at-home-makeup-skills. while the master classes are geared towards professionals only, so focus more on working on other people.

This is exactly the way the one I attended was done. I went about 2 months ago.
