Hey everyone!

So, as the titles suggests, it will be my first time going on an airplane at the end of this month. It's safe to say that I'm a little nervous, so if any of you have any tips or suggestions to calm to jitters?

By the way, the question that is on my mind is, do you think I'll be allowed to take my MAC brushes within my carry-on bag? I've searched and searched everywhere online and still cannot find an answer. I'm sure as heck not putting them in my luggage because they'll get lost with my luck!!

I would definitely suggest bringing things that will entertain you and distract your mind if necessary. Books, magazines, mp3 player, portable DVD player, stuff like that.

I would also suggest taking a pack of bubble gum, and pop one in your mouth as you board the plane; this helps with ear popping from the altitude change.

Don't drink TOO MANY fluids the day of the flight, and go to the bathroom before you start to board. If it's a really long flight, you won't be able to help it if you need to use the bathroom, but if you can avoid it, that would be good. You may be uncomfortable with walking up and down the isles and pushing passed people in the rows.

Relax! Enjoy yourself! Good luck and safe travels.

I fly over 100,000 a year so here's some suggestions:

Bring your own pillow and blanket if its long haul, bring a big pillow and get a window seat, and you will get a good sleep! The pillows and blankets they give on flights are a bit pathetic.

Always ALWAYS bring hand sanitiser.

Bring some halls or chewy sweets. As they don't really give them out anymore.

I would try to avoid going to the bathroom on the plane! Its gross and a nightmare.

Get ice in your drinks, so if you ears don't pop, crunch the ice and it works wonders!

Pre pack your liquids in to a separate lunch bag, and your electronics in a separate one, when you go through security put these on top of your bag and it helps security process you faster.

Wear easy slide on shoes, this will help you remove them faster for security.

Bring some anti sickness medication just incase, even the biggest roller coaster junkie can feel ill during severe turbulence, and on this point bring ear plugs and a flight sleep mask!

Just before you board there are usually some shops past security, get some plain potato chips and some water, this will help if you get hungry on the flights.

Bring flight socks or slippers, nothing worse than freezing toes on the plane

and it gives you a break from tight shoes.

Oh and for MAC brushes, take as few as possible, I take 3, you can take them and no one should question you, make sure your make up is in the liquid bag too, even eye shadow, because again, it speeds up processing, nothings worse than security searching your bag for....A EYESHADOW! Arghhh!

Flying can also make you dehydrated, so even though you don't want to liquid load before a flight, be sure to drink a lot water afterwards! You'll feel tons better the next day if you do!

I always take my makeup brushes carry on, as well as all my makeup that I need for the trip!

Dress so that it's easy to get through security. I always wear shoes I can slip on and off easily.

Dress in layers. Planes are weird and can be really warm or cold.

I cushion everything I pack with clothes. I've only had one Stila eyeshadow crack on me in all the times I travel.

Bring stuff to amuse yourself. Given the weather sucks now, you never know if you're going to be delayed or worse, stuck on a plane.

I've never had issues with makeup and carry ons, and I never check baggage. I just toss any glosses and mascara into the liquid bags (THANK GOODNESS they're getting rid of that retarded liquids rule this year), and everything else just in the bag. Never had a problem with 3 palettes, brushes, and all my other stuff.

Like others said, use the bathroom before getting on the plane. Definitely a hassle to go while on the plane, especially if you don't have an isle seat.

I usually take early morning flights, and stay up all night before it (no other choice, because I take public transit to the airport, and last trains are at 12.30am, and sometimes I had 6am flights, so I had get there super early), so I end up sleeping on the plane. I have to admit, I hate flying and I am sure the plane will crash one day... if I can't sleep, there's this awesome SkyMall catalog in the seat back that's fun to read

u will be able to take brushes but all ur makeup has to go in a clear baggie.
my advice 4 a plane is bring an mp3 and a book and bring a shawl or layers because it does get cold on a plane. always getting to the airport early helps with nerves too. my mum gets really scared on planes so she always gets to the boarding gate early so she knows shel be able to sit down, get seated and relax. also u can make flying enjoyable by going into the shops first haha i love getting some mac before i fly!!
