Florida humidity and hair

So my husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at Disney World. (omg yay!) The problem is that even with a flat iron or lots of gel... My hair looked awful and frizzy.

Im normally in NJ so I was not prepared.

What should I do differently next time? Even mousse and leaving it curly was a disaster.

i just got back from florida as well from the past 2 weeks and the only thing that helped my naturally frizzy and wavey hair was putting it in pigtail braids!! seriously even my ghd's were no match for the florida frizz!

Honestly your hair just has to get used to it. The people that you saw that had nice hair, probably have lived in florida for a long time! I just straighten my hair with no product and it's fine...but I lived in Michigan for 2 years and when I moved back down here my hair didn't turn back to it's normal state until like 3 weeks later...

I'm a fla chick and I believe your hair has to "get used" to the atmosphere. A few weeks ago, when it was blistering hot, I had such pretty curls, but as soon as I walked out the door....they dropped. Finally about a few weeks, my curls seemed to be more resilient to the weather. Florida weather can be so very frustrating! When I go to the theme parks, I usually wear a hat, if we are out in the day and in the evening kick a cute pulled back style or a up do.
