Floridians Where Do You Shop???

Where do you shop? What do you wear? I'm not talking about work or clubbin just everyday?
I recently moved to Tampa from Chicago/New York! I am going through a major culture shock when it comes to clothing, as there are no seasons here!!! I've always been very fashionable but I feel so limited here since its so hot and humid! Everyone always seems to be in flip flops, shorts ect.

Help ME!!!!!!

Hey there, I'm in Tampa too! Are you here for school or work or just a move? I came from Gainesville, super college town and noone there wears anything but t-shirts and flipflops--blah. However, since I moved here to go to fashion school I've been able to expand my outfit choices exponentially. If you go out in Tampa, you'll see lots of scenester clothes in Ybor (tunics, leggings, super low v-neck tees), dressier styles at older clubs and bars... It is hard to dress stylishly when it's so hot allll the time, but that's what sexy shoes were made for! Wear em with shorts, skirts, dresses...

It just feels weird for me to wear flip flops all of the time! I mean up north I wore them to the beach and in the house! I have so so many shoes but my bf is my exactly my height

Wow, that sounds like so much fun? I'm a nurse so my school is so blah! What is your average school day like, I would love that!

Don't get me wrong, I wear flip flops, but not NEARLY as often as most people down here! I just feel messy if I don't at least put on some nice flat sandals. Also, I've been wearing sundresses like they're going out of style. I must have two dozen Forever 21 jersey knit dresses in various cuts and colors

Sucks about the bf being your height! I don't usually wear heels unless I'm going out since my classes are all about 4 hours long (or a little more) and a lot of times you're on your feet for most of the class. Every class is different, there are draping and pattern drafting and sewing classes that are really hands on, then production/marketing, trend forecasting, and writing for fashion, which are more based around the computers. I only have two quarters (8 classes) to go, then NY or Cali (or MAYBE stay here and look into working at Busch Gardens on costumes, not sure)!

Nursing sounds cool though, did you get a job/residency here yet or are you still in the learning stages? A good guy friend of mine might move down here for nursing, he says it's a great area.

Oh, and I've always been into cars (my dad got me interested, my mom could care less haha). The last 6 years or so I've had a part time job as a valet and when the people I work with/for find out I'm into fashion they're like....huh? Because being a valet is not exactly glamorous! And same thing when people in fashion school find out I park cars and have been doing it for years...."huh?"

I've been a nurse for 3 years but now I am taking my finals to graduate with my degree. Its fun but it gets so boring when you work @ a nursing home and give pills all day long and feel like a narcotic pezz dispenser!

As 4 cars I had my dream car and it got stolen when I was in the military! 3rd generation RX7 with a rotary engine. I loved it so much and saved up so much 4 it. I was a Humvee mechanic in the army. I loved it, but it was nothing like the cars today it was all mechanical not electronic. Sad but I still call everything thingie this and thingie that! So I guess I can say I subscribe to both Import Tuner and Cosmo lol!

You ever get to drive any nice one's! Thats too tempting to me, someone shows up in a challenger and I'm sorry but I'm gonna go 4 a joy ride! I would so be fired!


What have you made???? I love going to that huge Joanne Fabric Store and wishin I knew how to sew! I even bought myself the project runway edition sewing/embroidery machine and quit like in 2 days! I couldn't even thread the friggin bobbin thingie!

Finishin school and movin to NY or Cali! Oooh then you'd be rockin fashion week and I'd be here watchin tutorials lolz!
