The MA sounds like such a nice guy

This is probably not the most pleasant thing to do, but it can be appropriate if used when necessary -

you can e-mail MAC about any MAs or general dissatisfactions. They shouldn't be paid to make you feel uncomfortable y'know?

Before the board got kinda erased there was a post about this...

Everytime I goto the Mac Freestanding store I am treated very rudely, but when I goto the Pro store, I am treated so nicely, they tell me to go through drawers, to do whatever Id like and if I have any questions they are always there to help...
Nordies and Macys I guess depends on the employees, but I dont get the rudeness and the "holier than thou" attitude I get from some of the Freestanding store employees...Considering Im such an addict youd think theyd be kissing my ass...lol

They probably got rid of the rude people and hired people with an actual personality!! Glad you had a better experience this time!

I always get my MAC at a counter in Filene's and last week I went to a freestanding store. The only ma there was so rude! I brought my bf there and we were talking about the things I wanted to buy, and the ma says to me (in a very impatient tone), "Um...is there, like, anything else?" No one else was in the store! He had already helped me pick out a couple of things and I was still deciding if I wanted to buy something else, and I found that so annoying! The mas at my counter are so nice, they have never been rude...ever.

Whew, I just wanted to rant. But it's over now

Whenever I go to the MAC counter at Dillards I am always treated badly. The girls that work there are extremely rude and the only time I get any decent service in there is when the guy is working. He is hardly ever there when I go in though. I tend to ask a lot of questions especially when im looking for something in particular and when I ask one of the girls they usually brush me off. Now at my MAC counter at Nordstroms the people that work there are quite lovely and helpful. It really does make my shopping experience a more pleasant one when the sales people are nicer and more helpful.

Over here in Berlin I have the nicest MAs ever!
They're so cute!
Everytime I go there to check out the newest stuff, at least one of them comes over and say "Hi! How are you doin?" (and I noticed that they dont do that to every customer!)! They tell me that they'll have this and that collection then and there and mostly they show me the newest stuff!
I had a very lovely experience with one of them the last time I visted them!
I didnt blend my e/s that good and she just pulled me over to a chair and fixed it for me and made me look soo much prettier than before!
One time they had a very cute male MA around and he was soo nervous while helping me! I think it was his first day @ MAC but I havent seen him for a long time....

It sucks when you are treated rudely. All the MA's at my counter are super friendly and literally come running when they see me (or maybe it's my son they want to see...they all love him) At any rate, they are always super helpful and have even told me not to buy stuff b/c new collections are coming in and I might want stuff from that instead. I used to work in customer service and I certainly wouldn't have treated my customers poorly and I don't expect to be treated poorly either. I'd let the manager of the store know if you haven't received proper service. After all, your satisfaction keeps you coming back and spending money at their counter right?

I think the best way to get really great service is to make friends with one MA by consistently going to her/him and talking with her. They know you will be back to give them more commission so they are much nicer to you once you are a regular. I'm a regular at my MAC, and the MAs are so wonderful to me. The manager gives me gratis, they let me go through their release folders, facecharts, etc. It all depends on how well you know the employees.

i've heard this from people a LOT!

in the 20 years i've been a MAC customer, i've never had people be rude or mean.

don't put up with it - COMPLAIN!!! email or call customer service. if it continues and you know who s/he is, call the regional manager for your area and tell them where you got the bad service and who the MA was if you know their name.

i've had my share of rude MA's too! one time i asked one of the girls to do a smokey look on me and she's like "what kind are u talking about?"....and i told her i wanted a BLACK/GREY smokey look and she's like "well u can use any color to do a smokey look"....BUT i wanted black and grey, stupid girl!

and this weekend, i was at the mac counter and there were 2 MA's that totally ignored me...i was getting pissed off but i REALLY wanted this one eyshadow so i stuck around waiting for one of them to ask me i needed help....she actually turned out pretty nice (probably just wanted to make a sale!)....

I've only had one rude MA. I went in for Studio Fix, and for the life of me I couldn't remember what mine was, so I was looking for the compact in my purse, and she's like, "You don't know what number you are?!" And I said, "I forgot," and she said, "What would you do if you lost your compact?" and I said, "Come back here and ask for another...?" and by that time I had my compact out so she just left to get it. I was so mad! I avoid her now everytime I go.

the mac here. the people arent that great at helping out with choosing things , i went to get a free lipstick and couldnt choose. and i asked her what seemed best and she answered with " well watch catches your eye" .. ok thats fine. but ALL of them catch my eye. that doesnt mean im going to go around wearing bright pink . so i said , i dont know i guess i want a nuetral thing and she was like ." those are here" and she walked away. . coleen is the only nice one here. thats about it.

usually MAs have attitude problems. when i worked for Stila i was the young prodigy, and the power went to my head haha i didnt talk alot but i talked to the rich waspy women and "my" people ( the kids who are into alternative things ) but i was nice in general and helped as much as possible

yeah i noticed a few of the MAs at the MAC counter ( especially in Annapolis Nordstrom ) have this cloud ego that looms over them. but i always kick them down a few notches with my information and all the techniques i know and this one MA in Towson thats does this little flash card like thing with eyeshadows and i can name them off my head hehe he thinks its cute.
