For those finding Studio Fix Fluid too heavy, fake, or dark- a suggestion

I origionally found this formula too heavy, fake looking, and dark. Yes, it does darken on the skin a bit, and it's a bit dark to start off, at least for some of us really pale folk.

I recently decided to give it one more go, so I pulled out my little sample container of it- there wasn't much left, barely enough for a normal application, or so I thought.

Try applying this with a circular buffing motion with the 187 or similar brush, while the brush is damp. I'd just washed mine, but a quick spritz with water or fix+ will work as well.

Surprisingly, I have plenty left over in the container for another application in this manner. It covered everything I need to have covered, but still looks natural and like my real skin. Since the application is light, it doesn't look too dark either.

So, if you have a sample of this laying around, why not give it one more shot in this manner. It just might work for you.

Thank you so much! I had the prob that it was too dark and was super disappointed as I liked the way it felt on! I will definitely give it one more whirl.

i tried this, this morning, before i did i used my prep + prime and a dime size of strobe cream on each cheek, then got my 187 spritzed with fix + and then put a few dabs of my SFF on the 187 and buffed it in,my skin is glowing and looks flawless, great technique!

yea. i like to spray my foundation brushes with fix+ because it will give it a little more slip and will thin it out a tiny bit and give you a little more play time so you can blend it out more.

I bought the studiofix fluid and had the problem with it being too dark so i mixed it 1/4 studiofix fluid to 3/4 select foundation and I got perfect results...smoothness of the studiofix fluid and shade of the select foundation...it's really not a hassle to mix either because I mixed enough for a whole bottle and so i know it will last me months before i need to mix again.

This is exactly how I have learned to apply it (with trial and error) and it works! Thanks for sharing the secret! I LOVE this foundation now. It looks amazing on me. xx

It's still not perfect for me, I get shininess in my t-zone (and I have normal-dry skin) despite powder and primer, but it works.

Hiya Marty have you tried using the Matte Gel http://www.macpro.com/templates/prod..._ID=PROD1 478 I have heard that this works tremendously. You could apply the gel to the t-zone area and powder and primer for the rest of your face esp if you find the matte to be to drying for certain parts of the face.

yes yes yes and yes.....well since ima guy fluid really makes me look BLASTED with like 5 layers of foundation on so im fine with my controlled application of the reg sf powder.even tho i use like 3 dots of sff its still too much coverage for me.but for women with bad skin this stuff does great with coverage.Fluid is too much for me.Im fine with the powder.

See, the thing is I have dry skin to begin with- my having oil come through with this foundation is a first for me. I generally find matte gels far too drying, and my skin usually gets terribly flaky from them, even in the Tzone.

Another suggestion is, get yourself a bottle of Face and Body foundation in White. I just did a test and mixed it 50/50 with studio fix fluid and it still dries down to a natural matte finish, and this allows you to tailor the foundation to exactly what YOU need.
