Formal makeup!

I have my year 12 formal coming up (OK ok its in like 6 or 7 months... whatever im excited)
I already have my dress (floor length halter neck with a sash around the waist that ties at the back, in 1cm alternating red and black stripes)

Annd I want to get my makeup done at MAC, because i never have before!

The closest mac counter to me is about 45 mins away so I'm going to get some of my friends to come at the same time so we can all have our hair and makeup done together (and nails etc)

But i was wondering what kind of look you'd suggest to go with such a dramatic dress? I'm a fan of dramatic eye looks, but do you think a neutral eye with a dark lip would look better?
I already have pretty long eyelashes- would falsies be too over the top?

sorry I have so many questions, I'm just curious!
I was going to do my makeup myself,... because i can and its cheaper but i though hell, my dress was cheap as (only $195!), why not get it done professionally, right?

hee thanks! and i love it too and totally would but.. i spent waay more on the formal dress than i did on the afters dress (formal= 195, afters= 10.)

im in love with the second dress too! and what a steal! if your going to wear both why dont you just do a black smokey eye and light lip? that way it'll go with both dresses...

Definitely. I'm sure you were expecting this answer, but what's more formal than smokey eyes?

If you're feeling really dramatic, do red lips.

I agree with the others! The 2nd dress would look awesome for the actual formal & a smokey eye would be great with either dress!

I was thinking along the same lines.. dramatic smokey eye and natural (not completely pale) lipcolor, maybe with some shimmer or sparkle to make it more formal. And a subtle shimmer on your face so your skin glows.

Really? WHOA what a steal!
But seriously, the 2nd dress looks a lot more flattering, and I think it goes with your colouring more (but thats just my opinion)
And you could totally do a black/aqua dark blue smokey eye which would be HOT
