what an awfull fake, but i do want you to knwo that the person bidding on it is fake as well. i tried to tell the highest bidder that it was a fake and beware, but when you hit the "send", it takes you to a screen where you have to put in some wierd info which i know scams you and the person you emailed into getting your password and paypal info. (i know this because it happened to me before and it was a mess.) i suspect the counterfitter has a few screen names and lets the other names bid to make it look like there is competition over the product.

When you send a message to another eBay user who you aren't buying or selling from you are required to look at a computer generated image which contains a series of numbers which is supposed to be impossible to read by computer but which can (usually) be read by a human. This is entirely normal eBay procedure and not a scam at all.

well the last time i did that, all of a sudden i kept getting wierd emails for 2nd chance offer or that "sorry, i didnt win the auction" and meanwhile i never even bidded or watched that item. i emailed ebay and they told me that screen (with the jumbled letters and numbers) was a scam into getting into your paypal and ebay account.

If the screen you saw is like the one I posted then it's perfectly normal.

Unexpected last chance offers are scam emails sent out to any email address that the scammers have been able to get hold of which invite you to go to "eBay" to bid again. The link in the email takes you to a spoofed eBay site. Look at the address bar in your browser and it won't be eBay. Other spoof emails ask you to verify your account details or tell you that your account will be suspended. You can get information about eBay spoof websites and emails at http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter..._websites.html

If you are sending a message to another eBay member from within eBay you will always get a verification screen like I posted above unless you have bought or sold with that seller in the past or you are asking a question about a product they are selling.

the scramble letters bit is genuine ebay - the other emails will be spam as I get them to email addresses that arent registered with ebay
